It performs perfectly every time. I've had several other printers and none were is good as this Brother printer. The price was reasonable and the ink is not extremely expensive. That's a big plus.

This printer is solid and easy to use and... it does not have a draft mode of printing - because of this the ink goes quicker. For me, draft mode should be a standard option on all printers.

Hello, stated page yields for genuine Brother cartridges are based on the ISO testing standards. The number of pages that can be printed with a cartridge is affected by several factors, including paper size, number of pages per print job, amount of print on each page, font size, and print content (graphics, charts, etc.). Print jobs with large text fonts, graphics, charts, and/or large amount of solid coverage (black or any given color) will use much more toner and will shorten the life of the toner cartridge.

Uses a lot of ink. Get error messages about cartridges that won't reset even after following the directions, have to replace cartridges that still have ink in them to clear error.

I really like this printer. I got it to replace a canon pixma which ran for five years without going down once but was so expensive to run. This one is a lot cheaper and has a doc feeder. I was not satisfied with the auto ink replacement offered by brother and I just cancelled it. It came too close to empty ink. My wife works from home and can not afford to lose a day. Otherwise, as Cobsuners’ says, ITV is a good unit for the right price.

There's Nothing Like Having a Brother

My first favorite thing about our new printer is that it has a smaller footprint with more features than the last printer we had. Also, the instructions sound as if they are written in English by a non-tech writer so that they were easy to read and understand. It was a simple and easy set up. The scan feature works like a charm and has the option of creating short cuts for often-used procedures for scanning documents. My last printer was so complicated; this one is so easy to set up and use. My husband and I researched it before we bought it so we expected it to me a very good product, but we were very surprised at just how good it is.

Uses TOO much Ink

My prior brother (which is no longer made) could go for months without changing the ink. This new model J895DW has to have ink replaced every 6 weeks with the same amount of use. Ink is expensive.

quality printing ability

Good printer except for: Display screen is way to small! Paper tray (being at very bottom of machine) makes it difficult to get a good rip to reload!
