Wireless feature no longer works

The printer worked fine for about six months. Then all of a sudden it went "offline" and I haven't been able to get it back "online" no matter what I do. I have spent hours trying to fix this problem including reinstalling the software twice, but it still insists that it is "offline" and won't respond to wireless requests for printing. I have given up -- I have attached a cord to my laptop and use it that way. Of course, that means no possible printing from any other source. I'm quite upset but don't have the desire to waste any more time trying to trouble shoot the problem. Maybe other people have had good luck with the wireless printing, but not me!

A home school life saver

With Covid 19 lockdown, i suddenly find my self homeschooling my kids and using this printer everday. We use brother printers at my job they are very reliable. Same goes for home versions. This has met all my printing & scanning needs to get me through these times.

Nice features

It does everything that I could want. I love the ease of double side printing it saves so much paper, and you don’t have to do it yourself. The only problems are it doesn’t give the option to print a report after individual faxes. The shortest time period is 2 days. I like a confirmation after each fax to verify that it was received, it doesn’t have that option. The other thing is that the color isn’t vivid. My MFC-495 was great it was hard to tell the copy from the original. I don’t know if it’s the machine or the ink itself. Other than that it’s great for the price.

O.K., not great

the copy is decent. to say it's slow is a massive understatement. It's very loud and clacky while getting ready to print, and then printing. It may be easy for other more tech saavy people to install, but for this 64 year old relatively tech smart retired teacher to install it was like pulling my hair out. It took me HOURS!!!

Very difficult to install, no chat room assistance

I am modestly skilled with computers. I found this one to be very hard to connect to my inhouse wireless. It is now connected and will print from word and excel documents but not pdfs. there is no chat room or phone assistance. the screen on the machine is very small and very poorly lit. Haven't printed much with it yet and will probablay return it.

5 calls to Brother they helped getting the printer working. Each day the computer can't communicate printer. Their fix lasts only a day.

Printer Problems

I have had this printer for about 6-9 months and have experience paper jamming and horizontal printing issues for several months. The instructions for resolving the printing issues are not easy to use and did not resolve the problem.

Nice size

Can not for the life of get this printer to stay on my WiFi. I have to power down and restart the printer and the Mac every time I need to print something. I can print from my IPad just fine anywhere around the house so that tells me the WiFi is working just fine, but then if I try to print from my Mac that sits right next to printer and the printer sits about 15 feet and one interior wall away from my router. No luck (that sucks big time).
