Buy a newer model.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this tp replace a previous Whirlpool microwave we have had for years. I had read the reviews and so I wasn't surprised at the lack of the quick buttons to cook on high for 1, 2 0r 3 minutes and about the little jingle when cooking was complete. I dim't think these changes would bother me, but they do. Yes, you can hit the 30 sec button several times but I'm wondering how long that button will work after so much use. With the audible signals you have a choice of keeping the one you have or having no signal. Also, I find I cannot really have something cooking and use the timer separately. If you try to cancel the timer, the microwave cooking also stops. If I had thought a bit more, I would have gone with a better and newer model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Whirlpool Microwave!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this in Nov and had to wait till Jan 5 to get it, but worth the wait! Great unit. Had one from 2007 which lost a couple parts no longer available! This new one is SO much better. Can't even believe the massive upgrades. Not the least of which is the vent fan. It's almost silent. Cooks so much faster and is easier to use on all levels! Thanks for the major improvements and upgrades.
