Great microwave!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced a combination microwave /convection oven. FYI those things don’t perform either function very well. You have a 700 watt microwave along with a convection oven that takes 20 minutes to preheat.
So, needless to say I am over the moon happy with this microwave! The sensor cooking works well. I did remove the shelf in the middle, you cannot sensor cook anything unless it’s sitting on the turntable. I bought the steamer to steam veggies in the microwave, that is nice too. Cooking is extremely quiet, exhaust fan is quiet on low. The cooktop light is dimable for a night light. The end of cooking timer is a nice tone rather than beeping.

Why I gave 3 stars instead of 5

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I bought this new Whirlpool 1.9 to replace my 20 yr of microwave. Both are over the range with vents. To remove the old microwave was a piece of cake. Now here is where the problems begin. The installation instructions for the new microwave are so hard to follow. I am a do it yourself person and I can follow and install most any appliance. The measurements for the mounting bracket. Good luck. Instructions for outside vent location. Says the cut out is on the bottom of box. If you find one please let me know what it looks like. For these reasons I gave it 3 stars. So far after I spent all day to install this microwave. The operation of it is good.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was remodeling my kitchen and the old Microwave was purchased in 69!! It was way past time for an upgrade. The white looks great with the Whirlpool gas range. I like the Whirlpool name because I'm getting quality merchandise. It's a challenge to learn how to run it , the cheat sheet enclosed is invaluable help. I am learning. purchased in Feb, installed in March. It is a powerful machine. I would like to know if there is a pause feature, the stove lamp would be more helpful at the front of the stove. Other than that, still learning.

Great Match!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kitchen had a complete matching set of Whirlpool appliances that perfectly completed the look of my home. When my over the stove microwave went out I was devastated because I couldn't immediately find a Whirlpool replacement in the same color. After much searching I found it at an awesome price! It slid right in to the same space with minimal effort. The unit has some features I have yet to understand fully, but it functions exactly as it should. The preset cook buttons are right on the money, no burnt popcorn! I only wish the logos matched.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this two weeks ago to replace a 20 year old model that had a broken door handle. I am so happy with this model! My favorite feature is the potato feature. No matter the number or size of potatoes, they come out perfectly cooked. Unlike my previous model, which I would just cook potatoes on high power until done, this model automatically uses its own secret temperature and time combination to produce the most wonderfully light and fluffy "baked" potatoes! I also love the defrost feature...it perfectly defrosts meat, chicken, and fish without ever overheating the food...no "partial cooking" ever!! I think this one is a keeper.

Looks great but there's a problem

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this microwave because I have a Whirlpool refrigerator and I've had no issues with the refrigerator for the last ten years. So I was hoping I'd get a whirlpool microwave and get similar results. I was wrong. After installing it I was very pleased at first. It looks great in my kitchen and worked well for a while. I started having issues with the microwave not coming on and getting a message to open and close the door. I started researching Youtube and found out there is a known issue with these microwaves. Apparently there is an issue with the door clips where the microwave doesn't recognize that the door is closed even though it is. So the microwave will not work until you open then close the door again. Opening and closing the door is a workaround but it gets very annoying. I guess I need to do more research before I make these major purchases in the I future. Anyway, I will probably be taking it back just haven't had the time to take it down yet. Bummer, because it did look good in my kitchen.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In today’s contemporary “Stainless” decor, it is becoming increasingly more difficult to find this biscuit color. We previously had a GE over range microwave which didn’t hold up too well. The door switches kept going bad. The style with a hooklike switch tripper seemed to be the problem. This whirlpool model has a flat piece which engages the door switches much better with less force. We’re hoping this change will alleviate our previous issues with the GE unit. So far, we love it!

Poor design and noisy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bigger than my older one it sticks out 2" below my cabinets and 4" deeper than them. The light is not centered below the unit and could be brighter. The display is about half the brightness of my stove and is difficult to see from 8 ft away. The start arrow which you use every time is the same size as all the other symbols but should be bigger. One must turn up the volume of the tv when unit is on. But the sensors do work well. So if it was quieter and had better design features and a normal size it would get 4 stars.
