A good bargain despite…

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A little complicated but that is because there are so many cooking scenarios. My real criticism is no backlights on the console. If you don’t have a light on you can’t see the choices.

Works well as a microwave. But

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this as a replacement for a 2005 Whirlpool microwave. It does a better job than the old one. Reheats coffee without baking the cup; Does a great job of defrosting steaks without cooking them; Steam functions are excellent. The single fan intake is in the front and works ok. HOWEVER: This micro is a range hood. That means it blocks light from the stovetop. The light is awful: it is dim and placed in the back. Literally useless. It really makes this microwave disappointing. Range hoods have proper lighting - why not this product? It is terribly annoying. Bogggles the mind.
