A Microwave that is Very Intuitive!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had the Microwave for three week and have not looked at the instruction book until today. We needed to understand how the sensing feature worked. Other then that we have followed the on board instructions and all has gone well. The Microwave alarm is very pleasant and doesn't nag. We have been very happy with this purchase.

The missing pause button

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been happy with my purchase and especially like the sensor cooking feature. What I miss is a pause button. The only way to pause cooking is to open the door. I often need to pause the cooking cycle but don't need to open the door. I'm concerned that added wear on the mechanical lock will be the limiting factor in the life of the oven.

Not tolerant of humidity

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our second Whirlpool microwave. The first (shortly out of warranty) started throwing errors and the fan would turn on even if the stove below hadn't been use.
We eventually decided to replace it, having been pleased with the unit otherwise. About 3 months into the second unit, we boiled a lot of fluid using an induction unit (no real heat from the stove) ... and even though we ran the exhaust fan, there was some condensation on the microwave cabinet. That night, it started behaving just like the prior unit that failed.
Putting 2 and 2 together, we surmised the control board had failed due to humidity.
Called for service. The master board didn't respond to diagnostics, so they replaced the board this morning.
We're afraid to use the convection oven option for the same reason.
Would recommend it to be used ONLY as a microwave and to have better exhaust fan but NEVER boil anything underneath the microwave.

Great Product - Poor/inefficient problem solving

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Over the range light went out and cause a general problem with the microwave which was still under warranty. It took over two months to resolve this issue as repair services could not be located. I suggested and Whirlpool finally agreed to replace the microwave.
