Stopped working after 2yrs

This microwave was installed as part of a new construction home appliance set. The sticker says Nov16 for manufacturing date, installed March17 and started having issues May19. The door does not always register as being open/closed. After putting something in the microwave, it will give an error code to Open/Close door, because it never registered the door being opened. Or, after the time has finished and I take the food out, it will continue to beep letting you know the food is done, unless you hit the Cancel button. Once, I opened the door when the microwave was still running, and it continued to run with the door open. Unfortunately, its outside of its 1yr warranty. The cost of a repairman is the same as a new microwave. After researching this model and other whirlpools, it appears to be a common issue. I will not be purchasing another Whirlpool microwave.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife bought this because our last one didn't have a keep warm button on it but it does so much moor the one feature I love is the popcorn button it really works it takes the weight of the bag and then pops the bag perfect never had this done before. Its one of the best microwave ever purchase.
