just what I needed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our 17 year old Kenmore I believe was made by Whirlpool, needed to be replaced. I am very pleased with all the features on this microwave. I haven't tried the steamer. The sound when finished cooking is pleasant, not a buzzer.

Be Careful ...

Bought this microwave and paid to have it installed. The installer must have wiped it down with something abrasive ... I didn't notice the scratches all over the control panel until a few days after installation. Home Depot wouldn't take it back if discovered after 48 hours ... so had to have a local company sanctioned by Whirlpool to repair within 30 days. It is only 2 weeks old! The repairman was rude and kept telling me it was normal, he couldn't see anything, it will only keep scratching, etc. etc. Finally they are going to replace the control panel BUT ... will it work the same? And will it continue to scratch. I won't even use a paper towel for fear of scratching it more. Even a soft cloth has scratched it. Numerous small scratches. It should be hard plastic or glass ... not the soft plastic. I basically like the microwave. Other drawback is the sound is very low so I cannot hear it when timer goes off or item is finished cooking. My biggest concern is this control panel that one sees all the time!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
