Quiet, strong and easy to clean

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Like many, I had the old countertop microwave that took up a bunch of space, but yet was always wary of having an overhead that would cramp the stove area (and give my husband daily concussions). Thankfully this model alleviated that worry as it is no where near as bulky as some other overhead units out there.
Positives!
A cup of boiling water in less than 90 seconds! Defrosting is a breeze. Multiple options for power and timing. Surprisingly quiet (well, as microwaves and quiet can be!). Stainless steel and clear buttons make wiping down a breeze. The interior seems as large as two standard countertop microwaves and yet is easy to clean. I can't stress that enough - the inside of this microwave is SOOOOOOOOO easy to clean!
Also, there is an option to turn off (sleep mode) the blue clock when it's not in use! Just really cool coming from a gal who likes to keep her electrical bill low and not need a blue light shining all night long in her kitchen!
And not to be outdone, the fan and light. Two options for lighting, and the fan has three!
Negatives but not really?
Timer - This is just a real small quibble. There's a Cook Time option above and to the left of the number pad, but the Timer option is incorporated at the bottom of the pad. Just thought the two should be more close together.
Turning on - if you have something in the microwave sitting there for a bit (I think 4 or 5 minutes plus), you have to open the door before it allows you to turn the power on to heat anything. It comes with Sensor Technology, so you would think it could sense food in there! I'm sure it's some sort of safety thing, but for me I wish I could override that.
Quick buttons - Like many of you, I'm not going to ever use these! The Defrost option doesn't include an option for frozen veggies...weird. But the Warm/Reheat buttons are cool options. I do wish I had the ability to simply push the numbers 2, 3 (and so on) if I wanted it to straight up cook for 2 or 3 minutes. But, I just press the +30 Seconds button multiple times instead.
Real negatives :(
Installation. I had my electrical and cabinet space prepped and ready. The biggest issue is that the template (which they suggest you can hang with a bit of tape) is, well, worse than paper-thin, and ripped on me multiple times. There's just no way, even with two people, to hold it in place for accurate measurements. The template is also overly large and not cut correctly, so doesn't fit the required area in the first place (my overhead space is standard size and met all requirements). Lastly, the template uses measurements in 1/3's, while the booklet lists everything in 1/4's or 1/8's!!! Thankfully my husband has carpentry and construction experience and was able to transfer measurements the old fashioned way...but wow, that part was a real headache.
Overall, love the microwave but not the installation and did wish I could tailor some of those buttons for my own home and usage, you know?
But like I wrote above, it cooks so very well and it's a great load of my back that I'll never have to worry about throwing a shoulder out trying to clean it because it's built so well! The installation is done and I won't have to worry about it for years to come. The microwave works awesome, and I am beyond pleased.
