I bought this in Dec of 2017, this past month it got wet in a downpour. my phone is not working so well. nothing they can do. funny it says you can take pictures underwater for a short time etc.. but i guess it is not waterproof if it gets rained on.. so disappointed with all of this.

So I gave 4 stars. Only reason that is, battery. At 3000mah and the power behind this phone it doesn't match up. Would like to see a Mophie case soon. I keep it on med battery saver and it can go 2 days with moderate use. Little over a full day with heavy use. If its left to it's own full potential, with full use, your looking at a half day to 3/4th. So my only gripe is the battery. Like I said, a Mophie case would be great, then there shouldn't be any issues with battery. The s9+ does offer 500mah more at 3500mah, but again, with 6 GB of ram and the power of the phone, cant see that making the plus run much longer, give or take 3-5 hours on max use. Having said all that now to the good stuff. The unboxing was awesome. I got the midnight black and it just looks so sexy to the eye. That Corning gorilla glass 5 is nice to the touch and makes the over all build sleek and easy to handle given its dimensions. The screen is amazing. I have had the phone about 3 weeks now and maintain at FHD. I haven't had use yet for uhd but if it's anything like the FHD I know I'll be impressed. Pictures and videos are so vivid and real, the added infinity screen just brings video and photo over the top. I have also been using both as standard, I have yet to play with any features which themselves are incredible enhancements. The sound. It's just stupid incredible, must be heard to believe. Simple as that. UI is simple. The added advanced features get some getting use to but once intermediate level is achieved the phone becomes far more advanced than you can imagine. This review is after 3 weeks and using it on its standard level. I am getting to specials now so I will make a review about that soon enough. But so far this phone is unmatched. My friend at work has the iPhone x and we compare every day and the Galaxy wins every time. More reviews to come. Starting out though. Its incredible. I'm very pleased and look forward to accessorizing this to the T.
The audio performance is a such a huge improvement over a single speaker phone, specifically my S8, the new S9 sounds like a boombox. Great stereo. and surround sound. The overall performance is a pretty big step up, mostly due to the 845 Qualcomm, some due to the Oreo 8. Apps load quicker, and simultaneous running apps do not slow other apps in use. In the short time that I have used the camera, indoor photos are significantly better than the S8, with much better color and detail. My AR Emoji makes me look a lot more handsome than I actually am. Nice touch. Thanks Samsung. The S8 Galaxy theme is better than the new S9 theme.
I did pre-order and Samsung delivered the phone on time. It was very quick to transfer files from old phone to Samsung S9. After using the phone for a week now, I can tell this is my best phone by far. The image results are pretty sharp even in the low light condition. As for indoor pictures, I used the camera's flash and the result is pretty good. The app works awesomely too - I use Samsung Health Management app on daily basis, and so far so good, I use Samsung app to record my sport activities and heart measurement (by placing your fingers on the sensors). I haven't checked how the sensor works on stress level though. The speaker is great and very clear. Lastly, of course, the design is smart, flashy and charming. My previous phone was Samsung edge and I adore the design of Samsung edge, I am glad the Samsung S9 has the smart edge design as well, only this time is way better looking - less wider. Plus, I like the Always on Display Option - a fast way to check the phone without sliding it.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Durable, Lightweight, Built-in speakers, smart design, works well with apps
I would recommend this to a friend!

I got a great deal on this, so was able to upgrade from the S8 to the S9. My S8 was dying quickly after just a year. So far, I'm extremely happy with the phone. It's way more than I need. My complaint is that my phone was knocked out of my hand and the upper back corner shattered. It was a week old and I hadn't gotten my case yet. Don't go anywhere without protecting the phone, it's fragile.
Any yes, it's a total annoyance that when you swipe away notifications, all for of notification disappears. I would consider this a problem if I used this for work.
I've had this phone for a while now, and haven't had too many issues with it, but it seems like a worse version of their gs5, which is ridiculous. Less customization options, etc. And they keep pushing this stupid Bixby thing on me with each update. Now I can't even disable it like I used to be able to.
Last Samsung phone I'll get. Hopefully Sprint gets a deal with Google Pixel (or whatever their next phone will be) by the time I'm ready to upgrade.
Oh, and the curved edge is pointless and only makes swype-typing more difficult.

I couldn't be happier with my samsung phone. Recently I was on a vacation with my family in Hawaii on a vacation. I took my phone out with me while snorkeling to snap some underwater pictures with my kids. When we were swimming back to shore I grabbed my son-in-laws leg , pretending to be a shark, he rolled me over and my phone fell out of my swimsuit pocket. We were only 5 feet from the shore. We immediately all started searching in the breaking surf along the beach edge. To my dismay we could not find it. I was especially worried as the water along the shore was merky with rolling sand. I put a lost add on Craig's list hoping someone would find it before we left in 2 days. No luck. Three weeks later I received a unrecognized phone call and let it go to voicemail. Later that night I listened in shock to a young woman saying they'd found my phone with their number to call to find out how to get it to me. I was in disbelief. I immediately called then back to find out they were walking along the shore and felt something smooth under foot. They reached down in the water and pulled up my cell phone. Obviously the phone wouldn't turn on but they took it home tti see if it would turn on after they left it on their wireless charger over night. In the morning, to their surprise, it powered up and had my name and number on the home screen. They mailed it to me and I was nervous about the condition it would be in after being submerged for 3 week. When I opened the package I was again shocked it wasn't scratched at all. It looked brand new. I then powered it on and was thrilled that it was all operational with the exception of the speaker phone. I have told this amazing story to so many of my friends and families. It surprises them all. Simply said, I love my Samsung phones. They are cutting edge, always years ahead of apple technology and aren't made to break. I'm a loyal Samsung customer. Im now on to my Samsung 10. It is a fantastic Smart phone that I truly love. Thanks a million Samsung for a great phone.
