Great phone but could be better

This phone is great in many ways. The new camera technology is a huge improvement. Huawei can throw in 100mp camera into their phones and it still won't be a competitor. The stereo speakers sounds beautiful. The main gripe I have is with the design of the phone, don't get me wrong it's an attractive design that feels good in the hand. What I can't understand is why the phone is so much heavier and thicker than the S8? It has the same 3000 mah battery! Even the S7 Edge has a 3600 mah battery and weighs less than S9, while keeping that sexy sleek thin design that I love. For me that is a deal breaker because it doesn't feel as comfortable to hold, especially once you put a case on. Another thing I'm not so pleased with is, what's up with the extra long phone? No real point to have a long screen, we will be scrolling down or up either way lol and that gives us that weird 18:9 ratio. I feel like Samsung did the best job on the S6 edge when it comes to overall specifications of the design with it being much lighter, thinner, etc.. but if that stuff doesn't bother you as it did for me by all means this is the best phone to buy on the market right now and you should buy it.
Pros: Bright display, Built-in speakers
Cons: Did not meet expectations, heavy, thick 0.33 inches

Bought the S9 plus and I hate the fact that I can not set text tones for individual contacts. Can not receive the digital messages from some phones. All of my emojis I send show up as question marks. Extremely disappointed in this phone and most of the features. Wish I woulve kept my S8 plus. Not worth the extra money.
Pros: Durable
Cons: Did not meet expectations

First of all, battery life is terrible! It would not last half a day for me. It drains bad even on standby.
I have a US unlocked Variant, Security Patch is of February (4 months old). It still runs on android 8.0. While even midrange phones are getting timely updates and security patches (Thanks to Treble); This flagship is lagging 4 months in security update and might take forever for the OS update.
I also have an issue with the microphone, The other person can't hear me for some part.
The situation gets worse while using an app like Whatsapp or hangout for the call (I use it on wifi).

While the phone has a ton of extra features, the basic functionality is not up to the mark.

I bought this phone because my S7 edge screen shattered and repairing it cost almost half as much as the s9 did. At first, the phone seemed to be a huge improvement. Much faster, sleeker, easier to hold, better quality camera and battery among other improvements. But during my 4 months of having it, I've experienced many apps crashing, the phone freezes a lot, and the user interface can be a hassle sometimes as well as connectivity issues. These issues have made this phone not as enjoyable to use as the S7, even with the many improvements it has made.I don't think this phone was worth the cost. Honestly I was much more satisfied with my S7. I'll give samsung one last chance with their next flagship, or else I'm gonna have to switch manufacturers.
Pros: Realistic color, Lightweight, Built-in speakers
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations

I bought this a week ago, I'm not happy with it.
It's incredibly annoying. There is one notification sound for all your notifications you can't have different sounds for different app notifications. So I can't tell what's what when my notifications sound goes off all day. The phone is great in the areas I don't use or care for. The areas I assumed it was great, it wasn't.

Easily Scratchable Screen!!!

I got this phone 3 days ago and I never dropped it once.
I always kept it in my pocket too however today I realized that my screen has scratches already.........

This is very disappointing.....
I used to have S7 model prior to this one and I had it with no screen protector for at least 3 months and it still had ZERO scratches....

The phone itself works perfectly; just as I expect from a Samsung product. However, these curved screens are horrible. Theres no functionality behind it and I don't feel they're even aesthetically appealing. All they do is make it difficult to find a case or screen protector that are ACTUALLY WORTHWHILE. My next smartphone purchase will be a Google product...
