Great concept but fails miserably.

Purchased TWO and both band clasps broke. Not kid friendly. Sad there is only a two week warranty and now I know why!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent product but poor life span

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have bought 2 Gizmo Gadgets for my son. I love the tracking feature. Everyday when he reached school I would get a message for his phone that he reached. I also love the fact that random people could not call his phone and only authorized people could be added to the list.
LG needs to upgrade the product and make it more Kid proof. The device has several poor performing aspects. for example after few months of usage, the display starts having issues, the device falls off of the socket often. There needs to be a better hardware version of this model.
All in all its a great product.

Had it for a month and it works great (he doesn't wear it 24/7, like if he's in the backyard playing) and I love the reminders for his chores. HOWEVER, he's about to outgrow the band and I can't figure out how to get a larger one or find an extender for this band. LG, what other bands will fit the GizmoGadget?!?!

Amazing product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this device for almost 2 years and still love it! Battery lasts several days before needing charging. No problems to report with the wristband or its durability. My son is 11 and plays hard and the device is still in great condition. The accuracy for the GPS is always within 25 feet.

The buckle on the wristband is cheap plastic!

1) I have my son's on automatic answer, but the microphone isn't loud enough for him to hear me when I am actually yelling into my phone to try to get his attention to talk to me.
2) The band is too small. My son is 17, and while it does fit him now, I can see how someone with an older special needs child would not be able to use this product due to the small wrist band.
3) The buckle on the wristband is cheap plastic. I don't think we have even had the product for a year, and it has already broken. I went to the Verizon website (where we purchased it from), and every color is out of stock. The rep said he didn't see any evidence that any would be in any time soon, so i was directed to the LG website, and there aren't any replacement bands on this site! Poor product quality for the band, but it has been a useful tool for locating my son.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The clasp on the band is made from a thin piece of plastic, and ours broke in just 2 months. It's crazy to make such a vulnerable part out of such thin material.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product has been a lifesaver for my daughter with special needs who longs for independence. She used the GizmoPal for two years and just upgraded to the Gadget this summer. My only two complaints are 1. It is pretty large on her wrist and she takes it off often. 2. (The bigger complaint!) I don't like that she can turn it off and I can't turn it back on remotely. If she does it on purpose or by accident (or if someone else were to turn it off) it defeats the purpose of being able to find or call her. Please try to fix this major issue!! Thank you!
