Doesn't Do What They Say

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ads say you can pick an area and they will notify you if your child leaves that area between certain times. I thought it would be nice to be notified if my child leaves school during the day because that would mean something is wrong. What they DON'T tell you is that you can only have a two hour window and only 5 alerts. I don't know about your child, but my child's school day is more than 2 hours. So It would take 4 of my 5 alerts to put in the school day in two hour increments.

Has a lot of great features but one big flaw IMO.

We just gave this to our son for his birthday. He loves the watch, and that he can call his contacts. We love that we have the GPS and the peace of mind that gives us. I have to agree that we should really be able to set up contacts our child can text WITHOUT making them caregivers, giving them access to his location/gps. He is so limited in what he can text, which I think is a great safety feature, but why do that and then give anyone they can text access to their gps? It does not make any sense to me. If this could be changed, we would get so much more use out of it! He could then use it to communicate more with other friends and family members, none of which are big on talking on the phone and prefer texting.
Pros: easy to use

Love it, but....

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We actually bought 2 of these for our grandkids. We love them and they work great! The only thing lacking, is that they get turned off too easily. I think they need a safety feature that allows the primary care giver the option to say yes or no if the device getting turned off. It doesn't do much good to have a tracker if the child can turn the device off by their self. We have had too many incidences where the device has been turned off either accidentally or intentionally and the parent didn't want the device turned off. I know there is no way to be able to turn the device on remotely, but having a safety feature where the primary caregiver had to allow the device to be turned off would be the next best thing!!

things to love but please please change texting

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a good product for kids but please change it so that kids can text non-caregivers. I think it is great to limit them, but I want my son to be able to text a handful of folks who don't need the entire app with GPS and the whole nine yards. Right now only caregivers can text and only through the app. If you read the blogs on the web, you can see that MANY people want to change this function.

Horrible battery!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this for my daughter about 15 months ago, and it used to work great. Battery would last 3-4 days between charges. Ever since the most recent software update, the battery is lucky if it last 6 hours! It makes it completely useless because the battery dies before school is out, and she can't charge it at school, so we have no way of contacting each other after school.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love it except...

On the bus even with the loudest ringtonw, she still doesn't always hear it ringing or my voice. The vibrate function would get her attention. I will buy again if they include that one small detail.

Great watch, Very poor quality wrist band.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my 9 yr old this watch for Xmas and he actually started using it until January when he went back to school, well two this last weekend 4/17/17 the area of the wrist band broke. I spoke to couple verison workers and they said I would have to go though LG and we have warranty for 1yr. I just notice it was not just me, other comments also mention this. This means the quality is not that great. specially since they need to take it off and on every day to charge.
This needs to be better quality.
