Great gadget

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this in April 2017 for my son's 11th bday. We love it. The only issues I have found are the activity tracker stopped resetting daily, and I wish the wristband came in a bigger size.. otherwise great gadget for kids and parents...I've already recommended it to a parent who bought two n they are so grateful I told them about the device!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for my 10 year old son for Christmas. We both love it! I love the fact that the GPS is so accurate and tells me exactly where he is. You can program certain numbers into his watch through the app. He cannot do that, only you can. He can then make and receive phone calls only from those numbers through a speaker on the unit. Pre-programmed text responses are awesome as well. No video attachments, no picture attachments. Just brief responses. Yes, no, I'm home, I'm on my way, etc. I have given this 5 stars but for two reasons. First, it only comes in red and blue. Second, I can't get the band clean! When you have a busy boy, it gets dirty in a hurry. Overall, highly, highly recommended as a great alternative to a cell phone.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Perfect alternative to not buying a phone

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 10-yr old loves it & I love being able to reach her when necessary, esp since we got rid of our landline. Great features & easy to learn to use so I think it's definitely worth it. I do wish programming 911 would make this perfect. I'm not sure why that's not an option since if there is trouble, I'd want my kid to call 911 1st and then call me. They should make a version for elderly and/or disabled adults for piece of mind.
Pros: Performance, Quality, easy to use

Started out fine, but. . . . .

We purchased these for our children, ages 10, 8 and 6 about 2 months ago. The 10 and 8 year old have the Gizmo gadget and the 6 year old has the Pal due to her having a cognitive disability and would not understand when it was appropriate to make phone calls. I would really appreciate if there was an option for my six year old to wear it either around her ankle or clipped to her clothing. I want the GPS ability for her and the ability to call her in case I don't know where she is and I can listen in, but school doesn't want her to have a device on her wrist that will distract her from her work. Also, after two months, the Gadgets' batteries have started dying half way through one day with no difference in usage. To top it off if I try to locate a device from my phone, the GPS is very slow. It always says "this may take up to 3 minutes," and usually does despite the fact that we live in town and our other cellular coverage is very good. AND one day, I got a notification on my phone that said my son was somewhere downtown by the courthouse when he was at school the entire time (I called school in a panic). For anyone who would rely on GPS feature, I feel this is very unreliable, and for the price, unacceptable. There are free apps that do a much better job of tracking people in real time than this.

Amazing watch!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought 2 watches for my boys 2 yrs ago and they absolutely love them, they are able to call me whenever they want. I set location alerts so I get an alert at a specific time when they arrive at school and if they happen to leave school any time during school hours I get an alert as well. They love to call or send me text messages during their lunch or if they need something from me. The battery life is amazing, my kids usually charge it every other day even though the watch has enough battery to last another day, but just to be on the safe side. 3 month ago I purchased 1 for my 5 yrs old and he loves it as well, it's a bit bulky but not too exaggerating. The only hiccup is the new update, not a real fan of it but it's just getting used to. Overall this is a great watch for kids who are too small for an expensive phone but with the security that they can contact you at any time in case of an emergency, which is why I got this for my kids.

It will break

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The functions are very limited, but that is fairly obvious when you purchase. However the quality is extremely poor. The watch buckle will break with the slightest tug on the watch band. Frequently. LG will fix it. BUT, you have to spend 2 hours with customer support to get approval, then mail the phone to LG. Then you get it back 3-4 weeks later and your child gets to use for a couple weeks until it breaks and you start the whole process over. No idea what happens after the warrant is up. They won't do the obvious, which is to send you a new 2 cent buckle (even after offered to buy 10 of them). There are no online or brick and motor stores that sell the buckle. So, if you want a limited function pocket phone for your kid this is so-so (2 stars because of limited function and weak user interface). If you want an actual wrist watch/phone, don't buy an LG one.

Future is here for our kids

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As parents we are just as excited about this as kids. Twin 8 year old got them just yesterday, already loving it so much. Ok so over sending us messages but that will calm down. Would be nice if the watches could message each other. Also I'd like if messages came into regular text message area and not into app but hey other than that, seems to be fab! Our kids looking very fancy right now :)
