Wish they would

Bought the watch for my 9 year old son! Love everything about it except two things that I wish LG would do ??? In my view it’s common sense! 1. Make a bigger watch band, they are loosing customers because the watch band size is to small... and there is no other size option. My sons friend had one and he out grew it in a month. My sons will only fit for a while longer also. 2. Why do they not have a vibrate mode on it? My son turns off volume in school, and he has no idea I’m messaged him because there’s no vibration mode? Seems like a no brainer... also can you make it a bit smaller? The watch face is in my opinion to large for a child and it would be nice to have a emergency button on it... other than those things . It’s great to have , allows some indenence and responsibilities!
I would recommend this to a friend!

One major complaint

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The only complaint I have is the notifications. Battery charged, gadget on, battery dead, gadget off. So on...And there is no way to set what notifications you want to see. I have irritated grandparents and I can see why. The app could use an upgrade to include notification settings. Way to basic.

Great on some levels for 8-9 year olds

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love tracking, ease of calling. The watch band doesn't last. I would like to see maybe the ability to turn on actual texting as the kids get a little older and are beginning to write words to encourage language development. The preset messaging and emoji's are cute but not enough for the 8 and up crowd. It's nice having a watch because it's attached to the child, they don't have pockets big enough to carry phones (nor would I want them to) or carry purses (again wouldn't want them to) in addition they really aren't reliable enough to carry, set down and keep track of where they might have left an actual phone. The product is great for the younger kids really not enough for the pre phone ages 8-12.
I would recommend this to a friend!

App update makes this useless
on October 6, 2018
Posted by: Iusedtolikethisproduct
We have been so happy with our Gizmo watch until this latest app update requiring me to consent to collecting all sorts of data in order to use it. Because that is something I will not consent to, I am now unable to change caregiver contacts, send messages, receive messages, check location, etc... This is not acceptable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

LOVE THIS!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought our 9 year old this at the beginning of summer. I absolutely love it! I wish it would have been around when my older children were his age. I am able to keep track of him when he is playing in the neighborhood, he calls, texts and checks in as asked. I love the ''To-Do'' app. I have set alerts for when to do workbook pages, call mom on lunch break, eat snack, get ready for sports and get ready for bed. Perfect way to keep in touch/track of him, without being a helicopter parent. And without giving in on having a phone way too early!
Recommended updates:
***please make it where I can delete items on the "To-Do" app. It sucks having to edit it to where it just has an exclamation. I would rather delete it after the activity is done.
***Make it vibrate when it rings or gets notifications.
***During "Quiet mode" I wish it would only act as a watch. Or make it to not get calls or go to apps. It should only be a watch, and have only the option to make a call to the primary caregiver. I was planning on my child wear it to school. However, I'm afraid it would still be a distraction being able to get in the apps.
Add these upgrades and I will give all 5 stars.
Pros: Style/Design, Performance, Quality, easy to use

Should be usable for someone with memory loss.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] He is delighted and has learned to use it and can read the screen easily. The main problem is that he often has trouble putting it on since the wristband is made for a child and is hard to buckle even since we punched more holes in the band. Come on!!!!...adults need this too. Either make it so that a regular watchband can be attached and/or make an adult size watchband that is expandable (as his motor skills will start to fail as his Alzheimer's progresses). These are not big changes, so please make them soon and don't be ridiculous about the price. It is only plastic!!!
Also, the service contract should be changed for adults with memory loss since their deaths may occur before the usual 2 years. This contract should also be transferable for free to other caregivers since primary caregivers may change over time.
At this time, it's an adequate product that I would recommend this to others who have people with memory loss. But it would be a great product if improved
Pros: easy to use

Could not be more happy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seriously excited that the Verizon employee told me about this product. Pretty sure best purchase I have made
In awhile. My kiddo is 9 and with this watch I can have some peace in mind. Plus she thinks she is pretty cool- bonus! The features are
Great, easy to read. She thinks the step tracker is great too. My favorite is the check in option. She gets annoyed when I ask her to do it. Is it for mostly fun and annoying her? Maybe. A little. But it's also so I know exactly where she is at anytime just in case.

Not receiving text messages with ios10
on October 12, 2016

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you had asked me prior to updating my iPhone to iOS 10 I would have given this 5 starts easily it's amazing! However, there has been no update to the app and with iOS 10 if the app is not open you don't actually receive text messages. You will get a notification that you have one and then you open the app and nothing. I also wish the text messages would come through my regular messaging it's hard to know I have messages if I'm not looking at the app and messages from my kids are very important. Hope they update soon!
