Major flaw

I love this watch for keeping up with my kids when they are at sleepovers or out and about but it has a MAJOR FLAW. If the watch is turned off, the parent cannot turn it back on remotely. I keep it in my sons backpack so I know he got to school safely and if he hits his backpack against something, it can turn off the watch. Think about it... you are using this device to know where your kids are.... if they decide they don’t want mom or dad to know where they are or what they are doing... just turn the watch off. That’s a major flaw with this product in my opinion.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best Invention Ever

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have 3 of these for my kids ages 8-12 and couldn’t be more happy with them and the functionality. We’ve had them for over 2 years and while the clasps have all broken in the last 2 months, they held up to daily use for a long time! I love this alternative to phones for kids.

Easy and Great for kids

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for my 7 year old (who has been wanting a 'phone') and I am in love with this (and so is he!) it is so easy for him to use to call out to his grandpa or I. The GPS tracker has been point on anytime I check in on it to check its accuracy. I love the fact I have full control over the watch through my phone and I have have it Do not disturb while he is in school so we don't have to worry about him playing with it. I recommend this and happy it's a compromise for a parent and child!

Everything I needed!

Reasonable solution to keep in contact with 9 yo

We have had the Gizmo Gadget for about a month and like it so far. No problems with the screen or band yet. The first few days he used it quite a lot and consequently ran the battery down rapidly. Now, he calls or texts infrequently. I think he finds it comforting to know he can reach us if he needs to. It has reduced the stress level for us knowing we can reach him if we need to. I wish he could type out simple texts but I'm guessing that feature would probably make this device more expensive. Maybe adding the ability to store more responses would be helpful. I find myself texting questions that he can answer with a yes/no as much as possible. Anything more complicated and he calls me or I call him.
Pros: Features/Settings, easy to use

Overall good but MAJOR changes needed

Overall we are happy with this watch so far, but a few MAJOR updates needed
1)Needs to be able to call 911. We got this for my daughter as she is staying home on her own for short periods. We do not have a local 10-digit emergency number, so it is a major oversight that she can't call 911 as one of her 10 contacts.
2) Please separate giving people the ability to text her watch from them being able to track her GPS. Her aunt/uncles/ grandparents want to text her but I don't want them to always know where she is.
3) Please allow ANY sort of customization on notifications. On iPhone notifications are on or off, there are no options for just receiving notifications for just texts/calls but not everything else. Everyone that has the app and wants to text with her gets notifications EVERY single time she changes the volume, turns the gizmo on or off, charges the watch, etc. It got real old really fast. It sucks I can't get notified that she texted me without also getting notifications every few minutes if she changes a setting.
4) Absolutely needs to be able to be turned on remotely. A kid can just turn it off if they don't want their parents to know their location. Kind of defeats the point.
5) This watch is VERY large, it is very large and bulky on an adult, let alone a slender child.

With all that being said, it has given me the ability for us to call and text each other and has been working reliably, so it is serving its purpose!

Need a larger band option

Great watch for toddlers with a few issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This watch is very easy to use for my 3-year old daughter and 5-year old son. They like the activity games on it that counts your jumps and steps. You can have up to 10 contacts on there for direct calls to and from. The watch has a few backgrounds to choose from. The time can be shown in digital and analog style. You do need a smartphone/tablet (iOS or Android) to get it set up. When I am at work it's great to hear my kids call me just to check up. If you set it up to where your phone number is the primary caregiver, then if you call and no one picks up, the watch will answer and you can hear the other side for about one-minute. This is a stand alone watch that can be used to make and receive calls without the use of a smartphone. The Gizmo App can be a little cumbersome at times. It does provide you with a tracking feature so that you know where your kids are (if they are wearing the watch).
Now for the issues. It's battery life is short. I charge it about every 48 hours. There is no ability to call 911.
Pros: Style/Design, Features/Settings, Performance, Quality, easy to use
