Perfect for young kids and pre-tweens

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We looked at this device when it first came out but they only had very child-like bands (blue with dump trucks and pink with crowns) I was so excited to find the new, upgraded gizmo! My son is allowed to roam in the neighborhood but this makes me so much more comfortable! I also like the "check in" features so I know when he's at a certain friend's house, etc. Only negative is to be able to text, the other party has to download the gizmo app. Other than that, it's great!
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had been debating whether to get my children a cell phone so that I could contact them when they were with their father. However, I felt like the children were too young for a phone. I searched for something that would be age appropriate and came across the Gizmo Gadget. It's great that only people who are programmed into the computer can call the children or vice versa. GPS is also awesome. I also like the fact that I can message my children via "text messaging." The only draw back with this phone is that the child cannot type anything other than send pre-programmed responses. Aside from that, I love this watch! It gives me peace of mind.

Great for younger kids

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have 2 right now and plan to buy another one for our son getting ready to start kindergarten. It is great to let them know we will be picking them up from school so to not get on the bus or little things like that. I really wish that LG had a youth model that I could have parental control the same way but that would feel more like an adults watch. Maybe I could still control the contacts and stuff but it would be able to text more and feel more like a full functioning smart watch that could gave apps and stuff on it (obviously still done through the gizmo app on my phone). I am almost to the point with my older son (10) to getting him something that doesn’t feel as kiddish, but I really want to have the controls like I do with the GizmoGadget.
I would recommend this to a friend!

good phone horrible texting

I bought this for my 9 year old daughter and she loves it. But the texting feature is next to useless. It is a good phone with clear sound and it tells time like a watch its supposed to. I also like the tracking feature.
However to text you have to go into the special application on your phone and when you receive one of the stock texts there is nothing to indicate anywhere on your phone that you received a text so you will never know your child tried to reach you. (Not good).
But as a phone, watch and tracker it is fine.
It is also comfortable my daughter reports and the fact that she wears it constanly seems to back up this statement.

Great watch, but please remove the "p**p" emoji

Great watch, happy I bought it for my daughter. I do not, however, appreciate her having the "p**p" emoji on the watch. I am surprised that LG has allowed that emoji to be part of the selected responses for a child's watch.
And the fact that your review filter flagged "p00p" as profanity but you allow it on your watch as an emoji is puzzling.

I bought this watch for my granddaughter to keep in touch with us. I just went through set up and found that you cannot make a custom name for the Primary caregiver like you can when adding additional contacts. My granddaughter does not call me by any of the names in your little preset list so I am now known by Home instead. Please fix this issue which should be so simple.

Buyer Beware- can no longer activate these device!

We just bought two of these for our boys and switched our whole family to Verizon for the express purpose of having these watches for th. We go to activate last night and it says they are no longer activating these types of devices, in anticipation of them upgrading away for 3G ( I think that’s what it said). Anyway DO NOT BUY ONE UNLESS YOU JUST WANT A GIANT BULKY EXPENSIVE RED WATCH FOR YOUR KID!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My daughter is 12 n im does so many activities, but all the GPS watches look so childish. She is going to love this one. She has been asking for a fit bit tof track her activity, now we both getwhat we want!! All of our phones n appliances we always try and but LG, adding another to the list!
