I purchased my Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon (6th Gen) about a month ago for work as I meet with clients at their home and offices and needed mobility. I wanted it to be light for carrying but have the power to handle all of the computing programs I use. I upgraded to 1 TB drive and 16gb memory and that works great. I needed security and with Windows 10 Pro I activated the bit locker feature for encryption to the laptop and any hard drives I attached now require a bit locker code to access, as well it came with the fingerprint access. I've heard of people having their laptop cameras remotely accessed so I am glad to see the slide closure on the camera so I can expose it when I plan to use the camera.
I can get the computer up and running very quickly when I am with clients. This laptop with Office 365 and Norton 360 provides me with a very powerful, secure, working computer. The only downside I have experienced is the lack of a display port. That may have been something I missed when ordering, but I like to connect to a monitor in the office. I have now ordered the Ultra Pro docking station to allow me to connect to the work monitor and any other equipment when out doing presentations. I also ordered an extra power supply to leave at the office.
I also like the feel of the keypad. Smooth even operation.
I purchased the thinkpad bluetooth laser mouse with the laptop and I like this because it does not require use of a usb port like most others I have had.
Everything is very good and beyond my expectation. Excellent battery and fabulous performance. HOWEVER, the fingerprint scanner seems never recognized my fingerprint when I tried to log in even tho I reset my fingerprint couple times. I love this laptop soo much but the fingerprint scanner is just trash so I stop using the fingerprint to sign in :((( that's the only thing I'm disappointed
Purchased a Lenovo ThinkPad in February 2017. The motherboard failed about six months after warranty expired. Gave Lenovo another chance, bought a Carbon X1 and less than 3 months in its has failed again.
Good so far. I am very impressed with the last couple of weeks. It is blazing fast and the keyboard is amazing. As with a few others I am not impressed with the speakers or Webcam, they are both awful. Also the fingerprint scanner is hit or miss. I changed up fingers and it works much better now. However I live the design, feel and overall am happy with my purchase.
One of the best laptops ever. very smooth in terms of processing applications. The keyboard is of premium quality and the overall build is robust. What I love most about this laptop is some of its detailed and small features that might go unnoticed at first, but are very helpful (e.g. 180-degree capability of the screen, camera lock, etc.). The only thing to point out here is that it heats up quite a bit when charged, which I think is because of its fast charging system.
