[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used it for a month. Fast, reliable, and so light! The fingerprint reader isn't as good as an iPhone, but it's still a useful feature. The keyboard is comfortable, and the trackpad is nice.

Light weight and compact, great battery

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I finally got my hands on my new ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th gen a couple of weeks ago and have probably been using it for 8-10 hours on average every day ever since. Unboxing it, I got my first positive vibe - the box was a pretty slick design. It is safe to say that performance wise this machine has met all my demands. I travel a lot for work so the battery life has been a big plus for me and the fast charge is good. Still the machine is of course extremely light weight and compact. I like the new ThinkShutter slide on the webcam, very simple but brilliant.
Cons: The fingerprint reader is not accurate, not a big issue but still can be annoying. Integrated mobile broadband 4g modem was not available either, a big minus but not a permanent con, I will definitely add that later since I travel a lot and I am used to having my computer connected everywhere. I have used my iPhone's hotspot but it is definitely not the same when you're used to having it (I had the X1 4th gen before).
Overall, I am very pleased with my new machine and would most def recommend. My only regret is that I did not go for the slightly more expensive multi-touch screen option :)

Unbelieveable Durability

The X-1 supposedly was built to military specs and the main reason I bought it. Mine recent fell from a counter onto a TILE floor while open and in use by a grandkid. I saw it fall and heard the noise of it hitting. I knew no open laptop could survive that. To my complete surprise, the screen was not cracked or damaged in any way, not even a mark on the case. It was still on the page that was opened when it fell, it did not even need to be rebooted.
Only the keypad seemed to be sticking. A few hard taps on it and it realigned itself and works fine. I am typing on it now. I have had no issues or repairs and mine is 2 or 3 years old with 1,000's of hours on it . I love it and would buy a new one but nothing is wrong with this one. If this one ever wears out or breaks, I will surely buy another X-1 Carbon

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just received the laptop a little while ago and I can't get over how light it is! The battery lasts several hours, though that might decrease over time. Display is really crisp and clear -- my husband calls it beautiful! People say they don't like the touchpad and it does take some getting used to, but it's really not too different from other touchpads I've used before. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love the features of this laptop. It is very fast, awesome keyboard, solid frame, and very light. I had wanted to move to a MacBook Pro for both the cool factor and the light weight machine - but this laptop takes care of all that - plus I can still use all my Windows based programs without missing a beat. The perfect trifecta! Oh, and I still get the eraser-head as a pointer. (Which is why I think the Lenovo\Thinkpads as so great.) Awesome machine!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my umteenth Thinkpad (I had them before they were sold to a Chinese company) and am very happy with it. Fast, light, great keyboard, bright screen touchpad back to normal. My misgivings are all related to Win10!
Another annoying 'feature' of Lenovo - the company- seems to be that they cannot tell time. Before ordering, they proposed 5 working days. That was expanded to 12 upon hitting the purchase and the followed by the obligatory email stating it was going to take longer. Why promise what you cannot keep?

Surprisingly Light

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A few months ago I purchased a fully upgraded T470, and while that's my main business travel rig, the X1 Carbon has become my go to couch/bed/around town laptop.
I'm self employed but I have to occasionally travel cross country for work. While you may imagine the shockingly small size of the X1 would be perfect for travel, I generally prefer battery life over weight when traveling. The T470 gave me about 50% more battery than the X1 (although both computers punch above their weight class comparatively to the field). Since both computers feature the amazing Lenovo keypad and have great durability, it's hard to imagine a use for X1 without holding one. But, where the X1 Carbon truly shines is it's weight and functionality as an actual "lap" top laptop. It's light and slow to over heat making it great for drafting documents or surfing the web wall watching TV. It doesn't have the amazing port suite of the T470, but it's not built for walking into a conference room with unknown connections. To me, it's built for leaving around the house (which hopefully by now is littered with USB-C chargers) and picking up for a quick task.
If I didn't travel as often or cared more about weight than battery, this laptop would be my daily driver, the screen is improved over the T470, and if I haven't said it enough this computer is shockingly like. I would usually never buy a computer this light, but the keyboard is seemingly unchanged from the standard thinkpad layout that's served as a benchmark to compare all other laptop keyboards.
