I recently purchased the x1 carbon and I am loving. I originally had a few freezing issues and started panicking but after doing the Lenovo updates and updating the bios everything seemed to be fine again
I bought an X1 Carbon (Type: 20KH) directly from the website. For the most part, the display is superior, and the sound is pretty good–better than a lot of the other similar laptops. However, the fan noise may be a bit high pitched like that of an idling fighter jet engine. Though it may not be on full blast all the time, the high pitched fan noise has been bothering me. I've updated to the latest BIOS and Lenovo support drivers, but I have yet to see any change. This noise occurs even after I've done setting up Windows 10 and let the computer run a bit to index and otherwise. I'm not sure if it's an issue with all Lenovo X1 Carbons or perhaps the particular fan I currently have is somewhat defective.
Besides the noise, the keyboard feels like a classic Lenovo laptop keyboard. The touchpad and its drivers easily make it one of the best touchpad experiences I've had with Windows laptops. Though the laptop uses DDR3 ram, it still runs smoothly for most processing tasks without any hiccups.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought the X1 Carbon with 8GB Memory, eighth gen core i5, 256GB SSD and HDR screen for my son going to college. The screen is amazing but you do need to keep brightness at 60% or higher for easy readability.
Burned it in with stress test / benchmark utilities and it performed great and very stabile at max temps.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thinkpads have a reputation for being quality machines, and their flagship ultrabook is no exception. It's one of the lightest on the market at a feather-light 2.49lbs. It's fast and includes all the modern features you look for in a portable machine. The price is right at retail level but if you're patient and catch a deal on sale you'll get a fantastic value.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a Lenovo fan, own two T530's laptops, wanted the same but lighter (9.5lbs vs 2.5lbs) went from a 15" screen to 14" and unnoticable. The wife got one to. I highly recommend the X1 Carbon!
