I bought this computer a few days ago and am, on the whole, very happy with it. I have owned Thinkpads since the days of the 486 and continue to be impressed by their quality.
But, despite the general high quality, I'm finding some problems.
A minor one is the low number of ports. There is no sdcard slot; ethernet requires a dongle that steals one of the precious usbc-c ports; audio does not have separate mic and speaker sockets; etc. All this, of course, is solvable with cheap external dongles and allows for the computer's light weight. So, ok.
The bigger problem is that I've had zero success getting an Ubuntu VM to run on this computer. This is critical for my work, but the VM crashes when the ThinkPad wakes from sleep. I hope I'll find a solution to this soon; as is, I've just purchased an expensive paperweight.
I traded my Surface Book 2 for the ThinkPad X1 Carbon (6th Gen) and what a difference! it runs mulitple monitors with ease and never hesitates while cranking away with dozens of apps and files open. It is so light I barely know i'm carrying it. I couldn't be happier!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I travel extensively and this is light weight, very durable, and works right out of the box. I got it with the 1TB, but no touch screen, which I now regret. It was actually on oversight on my part.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a web developer and I got this laptop when the old one died. It is fast and powerful and has an amazingly responsive keyboard. Haven't had an issue with anything. Highly recommend.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this for about a month and have been blown away by the how powerful and fast this sleek machine is. Two of my co-workers is switching to this too!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a month ago. It's good laptop. Fast, light and quiet.Everything is good except the battery level indicator. Sometimes, it shows 50% and 3 hours left, but it will go back higher after a while. I am very confused and want to know how long the battery can last. Another problem is it takes longer time to shut down than my T540p bought at 2015.
