The laptop wasn’t functioning straight out of the box, and needed to be returned for service. I am hoping my Lenovo experience gets *a lot* better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The laptop I purchased was great, it had everything I bought with it, except the software. Apparently Microsoft makes you down load it from the cloud, but unfortunately working with Lenovo on getting it actually installed was the worst experience I’ve ever had with setting up a computer. Everyone was nice, but just completely worthless. After days and days and many hours, they finally relented and sent me a link to the software. The same happened to the new president of our company. Not a good situation. It’s over and done now, but I definitely aged a few years in the process.

I bought this after deciding my latest X Lenovo was in serious need for an update.
I had high expectations. Went from a 10 year old X-300 running Vista to the very latest, absolutely top specification Carbon X, running the same Windows 10 edition my desktop runs.
Well, it was not particularly lighter than my X-300. Okay, the X-300 was fabulous.
There is plenty I do not like that I can attribute to Windows 10 - I have to spend a lot of time getting it to run and look like the Windows 10 on my desktop. Unpleasant work, but I can't really blame that on Lenovo.
There is no Thinkvantage blue button. There is some Lenovo Vantage that I have only used to update some bios. It took me too long to find how to deactivate the touch pad, one of the first things I wanted to do.
Physically I find the keys - whether it is the power key or the pointing stick "mouse buttons" to be slow to respond, in the sense that I am used to rapidly clicking on my desk top mouse - but I have to be slower and more deliberate on this lap top.
Same with the power key - I have to press and hold a bit to turn it on, a quick push doesn't do the job.
Battery life does not seem to be particularly strong - I copied 500 gb from one external drive to another, on battery, and the battery drained faster than I expected. I will be going on a 14 hour flight a few weeks from now - I will bring three movies with me to watch, but I don't have much confidence in how many of them I will get through.
So overall a nice enough laptop, very well constructed, but at the price I expected "more", particularly when compared to my ancient laptop or my relatively older desktop. I am not sure how I would improve it aside from allowing the keys to react more quickly (maybe there is a software setting for that). Actually a unit with two pointing sticks, one for each index finger, would be appreciated. There is a bit more room on the left, right and bottom to have a slightly larger screen in the same size unit. Maybe even at the top, it could be a bit larger and still fit a camera. I thought the camera "shutter" was too difficult for my fingers to manipulate, I had to get someone with longer nails to move it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
