Love the light weight. I don’t think I’d ever going to get 15 hrs. from the battery as advertised. I fully charged it in the morning, went to work all day and not using it at all. When I get home open it up I got 93% left on the battery. When I have about 85% it said I have about 5 hrs. left. Am I not doing something right here? I had to return a Macbook Pro, because it couldn’t run Windows program I need, even through Parallels set up. Mac never had any battery issues to deal with at all. Beside that I love everything else, just have to have my charger handy.
I love my new ThinkPad X1 even my picky wife like it. I did spill a small cup of water on it. No damage it did not even stop working... I don't want to do this again... This is a great laptop.
The my only complaint is the black finish shows finger prints, but they can be cleaned off with no problems.
Just one more USB port would be great only has two and I have don't have a open port now... If you are using this system at you desk get the Docking station. This is on my list to buy...
Great travel on keys, charge time is minimal, and it just feels like a premium laptop! Now for the chassis: I appreciate the lightweight design but ut's a bit of a peeve for me how easy it is to get fingerprints to show on the surface and dirt under the keys compared to other ultrabooks. But other than that, great option for a college student.
I carry my laptop to and from work every day. My previous laptop (also Lenovo, vintage 2014) worked well but was heavy and took a minute or so to boot up.
I’ve had this little marvel for a little over a month- it’s half the weight and twice as fast as the old one which also had a SSD. Battery life is at least 10 hours. It’s a laptop lugger’s dream.
Only downside is the lack of another USB port. I use one for wireless mouse-keyboard and one for dual monitors but occasionally need to plug in a thumb drive. Easily solved with a converter (one USB port on the laptop converts to 3 USB ports) but not as convenient as having a 3rd USB port.
I smile whenever I pack and unpack it. The company CEO even commented, “You really like that new computer! I’ve never seen anyone so happy just unpacking and plugging in a laptop!”
Lenovo is the only computer company with a trackpoint to which I have become addicted. I wish they would have more info on the web to make a better decision but the computer is mostly what I wanted. Could use more USB ports. Power supply plug should be standard so now I have two X1s with two different power supply connectors. This sucks.
Very pleased with the speed, performance, features and feel of this notebook. ThinkPad X1 Carbon sets the standard for business notebooks. At first it seemed odd that the keyboard lighting needed to be turned on and off manually, but in the end it makes sense because it's nice to have but rarely needed.
