I had been using my laptop from college and after 8 years, enough was enough! I am now in the military and was searching for a computer that was durable and could be customized the way I wanted. When I first was suggested a ThinkPad I thought of the big clunky ones from my youth but once I saw the X1 Carbon, I was stunned. Full disclosure, I am a sucker for matte black so I am biased in that regard, but I was captivated by how thin it was an yet was durable and contained what seems to be an endless amount of options! In regard to the performance, it is all I could ask for and more. Now I know I was previously using an old outdated laptop, but the X1 Carbon outperforms my desktop at work by a long shot. I am extremely pleased and would recommend to friends, family, and even strangers! Thank you.
Fingerprint unlock is really convenient. Touchscreen makes easier to draw and write notes, so that I don't need to carry mouse in my bag. The battery enable me to use for two days. Keyboard has a good feeling. I'm very satisfied. One disadvantage is that it's easy to get dirty with oily hands touching on it.
I'm completely satisfied with my thinkpad. Light, fast, incredibly reliable in all my work I have to do on a daily basis. It is worth every cent, it is the best investment I've made in a while for a laptop. I will recommend it to anyone looking to have the best of the best.
I bought this 3 weeks ago and have never been happier with my work laptop. I use this 8+ hours everyday and is amazed by how light weight it is and its great battery life. I also use a Thunderbolt adapter to extend ports for daily work use and connect external monitor, USB drive and memory cards to the single port on the laptop.
The i& processor 16GB of RAM and 512 GB SSD all combined together are an amazing combination that can handle multiple applications and performance intensive developer tools all with ease. I will definitely recommend Lenovo and Thinkpad to anybody who want a great business laptop that is super fast, super light and very reliable.
My only surprise was that the external monitors do not scale perfectly and show text a little blurry if I wanted a Full HD 1080p display with 100% scaling. I had to scale the external monitors up to 125% to match the scaling used on the laptop to have clear screen all across. This seems to be a Windows 10 issue and not the device issue and has been pretty widely discussed in various forums.
I am super happy with the new laptop that I bought for an MBA program, but with less than one month of use, I had to send it to the customer service in Atlanta because it was completely dead.
