My X1 carbon has a i7 8650U. It is very lightweight. At the same time, it is slower than my old thinkpad E440. I’m really disappointed about that.

The X1 Carbon has an excellent, slim, clean form factor, matt black finish and hardly any glint except for the laminated branding, giving it a seriously cool look. The tech specs are top end and it shows. However, battery life is lower than advertised and the touchpad sometimes needs stronger taps.
I have admired this model for years ... and it is everything I imagined ... fast, light, great screen (300mits), outstanding keyboard. I enjoy the machine very much. One point the higher resolution 300mit machine is not a touch screen ... the lower resolution machine is ... at first I was disappointed, but the higher resolution was what I wanted so I am good with it.
Beautiful, lightweight, fast performance Laptop. I have no heat issues at all which was one of my concerns making me leary before I purchased the X1. I purchased the high definition screen and it is incredible, colors are scary perfect. The laptop is a fingerprint magnet and battery life is fair. My laptop has no quality issues and I would purchase it again.
