It took a long time to set it up, but not much effort. The "legal" part is way overdone, I had to agree basically to everything but signing my house over to Microsoft. Still getting used to the computer, so I can't say much more.
I splurged on this machine for Christmas because I use a T480 for work and my personal laptop is over 7 years old -- I was due for an upgrade. I knew that the X1 is the flagship laptop and the prices were very good after Thanksgiving so I went ahead and bought this one. The packaging is well designed and from the moment I opened the box I was impressed since the machine rises up on a little platform when you open the flaps. My old machine has a spinning disk drive whereas this one has a SSD and runs so smoothly and quietly that it really is a dream to operate. One of the things that I appreciate is that the laptop is very light. It's so light that there have been times that I had to check my bag to make sure that the computer was actually in it. This is a very good looking machine and it performs beautifully.
Great laptop for business and personal use. This is my daily-driver, so to speak. Fast, light, amazing screen, great keyboard - what more is there to want? Actually - one thing - the sound (volume and clarity), whilst better than previous X1's, still isn't great (too quiet and not much depth). This needs to be improved in future.
