The casing is not built out of metal but that does not mean it does not feel great in the hands. the laptop is very light. It has very good port selection for how thin it is. The touchpad is a tad bit small. but it is very accurate and i still enjoy using it. But i was it was a little bigger sometimes. I love how the buttons are above the touchpad and not below. The keyboard on this laptop is amazing. I love the feel of these keys and in my opinion i think they have the perfect amount of travel and tactility for a ultrabook like this. The screen is pretty good. I got the 1080p model. Nothing bad about it but nothing really special. Battery life on this laptop is solid too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great weight and performance but the display sometimes flickers or the bottom goes black for a split second and occasionally it jumps to full brightness for no reason! It's a fingerprint magnet as always, but still a good machine and I expect it to last for a while (except for the touchpad) as usual.

The Thinkpad X1 Carbon is built on the lightest, strongest chassis available from any manufacturer. And if you think 'best in class keyboard' is just another catch phrase, you really need to test drive this laptop to appreciate how nice the keys respond and feel. Oh yeah, it's scream'n fast, stable and reliable.
