Lenovo appreciates you taking the time to share your comments and concerns. We want to assure you that we take your feedback seriously. In regards to your FN and CTRL keys preference, we recommend updating the BIOS by changing the key setup. Please follow the steps below to assist you:
1. Reboot the computer
2. Press F1 to enter BIOS setup
3. config -> keyboard/mouse -> Fn and Ctrl Key swap
To make it easier after the key swap, label the two different keys their new perspective position.

The machine is gorgeous. The setup was a breeze. However, right USB port is not working and I got blue screen of death four times in as many days of use. I don't want to deal with that so will have to return it back to the store.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first laptop was a ThinkPad, it lasted years. Since I've burned through several Samsung, Apple, etc., laptops that could not last as long with the workload I abuse them with. My use is almost 100% professional, but I routinely have tens of emails, excel sheets, web pages, and other docs open at once. This laptop handles it all. It is both lighter AND more powerful than anything I have used to date. It's made traveling a lot more pleasant. Battery lasts insanely long. It's also got the best keyboard of any laptop I ever used, and the screen is amazing. Another neat thing that other computers that compete in the weight and MAYBE power area do not have, the slew of legacy and modern ports they somehow fit in are so convenient. I'm in love with my computer. As for the cost? The lifetime these ThinkPads give you make that a non issue in the long run.
