I received this ThinkPad as a gift from my husband. My old laptop weighed over 5 pounds, but it had a fast processor and I hated giving that up. The ThinkPad did not disappoint me. It's so easy to carry and stays charged for a long time. Also, I haven't lost any power or speed. Can't wait to travel with it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my x1 carbon. I upgraded my laptop from a Sony viao which still runs but is pretty slow by today's standards. My X1 is up and ready to go in no time once I log in. It also has all of the ports that you would need to use. No need to get a dongle which is very nice. I also like the fact that you can cover the web cam with the built in slider. The feeling of the keyboard is great the best in my opinion. The carbon option is not a 2 in 1 so keep that in mind when ordering. Accessories are priced good so I got the X1 carbon, a wireless mouse, and a sleeve all reasonably priced.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Light, fast, fantastic battery life. This was a huge upgrade from my previous laptop. I'm using this computer for business school, and it's got more than enough power to get me through eight hour school days with several programs running simultaneously.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wasted my money. Does not wake from sleep unless all USB peripherals are unplugged. A system this expensive should not do this. Returned computer. Back to HP :)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought this a few weeks ago and couldn't believe how thin it was when I first took it out of the box. I actually thought I had got the wrong one because there's no way the specs I wanted fitted into such a light and portable machine. Love having the fingerprint sensor to log in and the keyboard is amazing! It is easy to type on and I don't feel like I'm going to break it or have keys get stuck like I do whenever using chiclet style keys.
I've had this machine for little over a week now, and I love it. The keyboard is hands down one of the best, if not *the* best that I've ever used. It is a snappy and responsive machine, and even after changing performance settings in the BIOS to maximize it, I still get around 6 hours battery life without doing anything super intensive. However, upon receiving the laptop, I noticed the left hinge was slightly off centered and whenever I put my hand on the deck to type right around the ThinkPad logo, there was an annoying pop. I noticed it was the bottom cover not fitting flush to the chassis of the laptop itself, so I took the cover over and gently bent it back into shape. I also readjusted the hinge.
Minus those two aspects, however, I love this computer and look forward to the next 5-6 years with it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The X1 Carbon is the finest laptop available. We've used the ThinkPad line for years, and this stands out even compared to the overall excellent ThinkPad line.
