[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the fastest computer on the planet. I love this computer. Thank you for helping me achieve my goals! I highly recommend this computer to anyone that wants performance and quality.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My new Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Cardon is the forth in this line of laptop (v1,4,5,6). They have all been reliable and Lenovo has made each iteration better. I upgraded to v6 because I wanted a touchscreen. As I have always preferred a mouse to the trackpad, I wanted the touchscreen for those times when a mouse is not practical--such as a cramped seat in coach. That is not a criticism of the trackpad on this laptop, which is better than many that have had to use over the years... The keyboard is fantastic, and I have used several other laptops which have not been so good... I also love the ability to charge the battery from an external battery via the USB-C port, which I have tried and it works well, but have never needed it since the battery life is excellent. All in all, it is a great machine. My children have benefited from my previous machines... my wife got v1 and two sons took v4 and v5. No complaints from any of them.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me start by saying I rarely give anything a 5/5 or a 10/10...so a 4/5 from me is pretty dang good! I've used several ThinkPads over the years and this one is the best I've ever used. The screen resolution and brightness is amazing. Everything performs as you would expect from the specifications and of course that keyboard! Just great!
I am beyond disappointed with my brand new x1 Carbon 6th gen laptop, which STOPPED WORKING on Day 6 (ironically, the day that I had finally gotten it all provisioned and had started to use it for work). It is now on its way to a Lenovo Repair Depot, and I await either a fully restored computer or my money back. I know my way around computers, having worked in the software industry since the early 80s and having purchased many computers for my consulting business over almost three decades. This was my first Lenovo purchase, and this inauspicious start is deeply concerning.

I've been buying Thinkpads and installing Ubuntu Linux on them on a yearly basis since 2006, but it just wourldn't work with this model. Months of messing around with Canonical support yielded no real success -- the best I could attain was a system that locks up and needs rebooting several times/day.

What does Linux certification mean for our customer? It means a system has been tested with a defined Linux distribution and most of the basic functions work. We highly recommend using the two following links to cross-reference your machine with machines that are compatible and certified in using the Linux/Ubuntu system:
We maintain a website for our customers (http://www.lenovo.com/linux) to access if they have questions about Linux on our products. This website contains a listing of the products that have been certified and hints or tips for the customer to utilize when enabling certain functions. While we try to enable as much function as possible, no claim is made concerning full support for any version of Linux. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks for choosing Lenovo!
Nice laptop, brand new but came with a display flicker that hasn’t been resolved yet. One needs to hope that some knowledgeable person will reply in the Lenovo forum to fix it.
