[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My second Carbon, my family's seventh Lenovo. My gen1 X1 is still running strong, minus some cosmetic issues from hard use. This newest one is another gem; fast, light and supports the newer eGPU's if you're looking for desktop replacement. I can also confirm on-site support is fantastic and worth it. The one issue I had with my Gen1 was fixed the next morning by a capable professional in my home office. These have been so dependable that I've been slowly switching my family over (as they need new laptops) because they are sleek, dependable and high perfoming. No complaints at all, would love to see a trade-in/trade-up offer for early adopters with the earlier Gens. Thanks Lenovo!

Using this in my office with an external 4K monitor and the thunderbolt 3 dock and is on par with my old 3 Ghz i7 desktop for most of the applications I run during normal course of business. I don't do CAD or gaming. This really shines when I'm out of the office, it has great battery life, and is so light to carry in my bag. It has a good section of legacy ports , good old USB A and also a HDMI for projectors. I also love the feel of the finish, it isn't slippery and has a nice grip.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use my laptop all day everyday at the company I own. I'm mobile and work at several locations inside and outside my office. My primary uses are typing papers and (hundreds) of emails ... and creating sales and training presentations. I often have lots and lots of documents and webpages open at the same time.
With that in mind, here are my thoughts about this laptop:
- The keyboard is just awesome. The keys are big and springy. Much to my surprise, the keyboard increases my typing speed ... and enjoyment.
- The i7 processor / 16 gb of RAM makes everything I do on the laptop happen instantly, with zero lag. I love that.
- The higher-end matte screen is exactly what I need it to be. Low glare allows me to use it in any light. The screen (and speakers) wouldn't be that great for movie watching, but I don't care. I use this for work. Any videos I'm watching are work-related.
- The machine looks and feels like a high-end workhorse machine. To me, stylistically, it says "serious business person."
Overall, my X1 is exactly what I hoped it would be. A fast, sturdy, easy-to-work-on machine that I hope will last me for years to come.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Superb machine. I previously owned a Dell XPS 13 and I thought it was great. I bought the ThinkPad because I heard they were very well made and had a good reputation. I have not been disappointed. The keyboard is much better that the Dell and it performs as well if not better. No issues, easy to set up and easy to use
