[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a lovely, light ultrabook. I love the mix of ports, the battery life is great (and charging is very quick with the Thunderbolt port), and the keyboard is the most comfortable, pleasant laptop keyboard I've ever used. There are only a few minor things I don't like. The left-sided Function and Control keys are swapped, and obviously Lenovo knows this is annoying because there's even a customization which lets you swap them back to a normal position, but then that means that the keys are labelled incorrectly. I also never use the little red nubbin in the middle, so the buttons over the trackpad never get used.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This laptops out performs every other laptops we have in our office. People get caught up on Mac book pros and this machine outperforms it in pretty much very sense. For a business laptop, you can’t do much better than an X1 carbon.
If it meets your needs, you won't regret buying it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Configuration:
● Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-8250U (1.60GHz, up to 3.40GHz with Turbo Boost, 6MB Cache) ● Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64 ● Display Type: 14" FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS anti-glare, 300 nits ● Memory: 8 GB (Onboard) ● Hard Drive: 256 GB SSD PCIe ● Graphics: Integrated Intel UHD 620 ● Camera: 720p HD with ThinkShutter ● Fingerprint Reader: Included
I use it for school, where I use office applications (MS Office), text editing (Visual Studio Code) and for data analysis with R and SAS analysis software. No gaming or video editing. It is subjectively as fast (for my needs) as my previous i7-8550 15.6' machine from another manufacturer with 16 GB RAM. I like the fingerprint reader (comes in handy with password manager) and the non-glare screen, which lets me use it outside on sunny days (which I had trouble with even indoors on sunny days on my prior 4K glossy screen). I haven't spilled anything on it nor have I dropped it but the security of knowing it's a ThinkPad allays any worries I might have about those events happening. And it's a breeze to lug around, unlike my previous machine.
No regrets or buyer's remorse (I'm prone to the latter). I'm very happy with the purchase and am considering whether I want a second larger ThinkPad to have at home (a larger screen is nice when you use multiple applications and copy and paste between them) or a dock to which I can attach a larger monitor.
