I especially like the light weight and portability of my new ThinkPad laptop. I was disappointed to find that there is not a place to plug in a network cable for when I work at the office. My one suggestion would be to put the Ctrl key at the far left to make the adjustment easier from a normal keyboard.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great machine. Lightweight, fast, great video quality. I am an IT Director and use this as my personal machine for spreadsheets dealing with our Analytics solution. Would definitely recommend for power users who want a light, fast machine with good battery life to boot.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think that's a first time when I'm happy with downgrading my work laptop.. Previously I used a ThinkPad X1 Extreme, but while it was very light and powerful I wanted something lighter. After switching to X1 Carbon I don't think I could make a better choice. Laptop still does provide enough compute power for my needs (heavy browsing 20-50 tabs, programming, electronic design, 3d pprinting/design and light virtualization.. 2-5 small VMs at the time. )
Performance with 4k screen is average during heavier workload, but I hope to remediate it with external GPU (thunderbolt 3).
Keyboard is also very comfortable.
Only thing I don't like about this laptop is not expandable RAM and no option to purchase this laptop with 32GB RAM..
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this to use for my companies BYO program and I am very happy with it. It is extremely light and easy to carry around. I like that it has all of the ports on it, so I can easily hook it up to accessories and displays.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Switched to this laptop from Apple (been a 30-year customer of Apple, and switched to a non-Mac for the first time for this machine). Excellent for work, spectacular keyboard - probably the best keyboard I've ever used on a laptop. Very fast machine when running Linux, comfortable and stays cool when using it. One downside is the horrible speakers, however - makes conference call audio just on this side of usable (that is to say, barely). Sound is tinny and thin, and easily deserves one star deduction. Otherwise, it would have been the perfect hardware laptop for the workaholic road warrior. Even so, "near-perfect" is just fine, and I'm very happy with this purchase over anything Apple currently has to offer.
