I have been a ThinkPad exclusive user since 2007 going through two T-serie model in 10 years. My last model T430s was great (used it for at least 9h /day for almost 7 years) and still is, but not anymore in line with modern trends of slim, ultra portable terminals. So I decided that is time to upgrade. I pondered between a MacBook Pro 2018 and ThinkPad X1 Carbon. Having tried the keyboards of all MacBook models, made an easy choice to go for X1 Carbon. I was a bit worried that the keyboard quality might be compromised (in comparison to my T430s). It is as great as any older ThinkPad series and when it comes to keyboard in the laptop space, there is no close competitor to ThinkPad.Period.
Overall a modern, slim, with great keyboard, display and reliable laptop. If you are a person that does productivity work, X1 Carbon is a top choice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Silver Carbon X1 from Lenovo is nice (low fingerprints) compared to black, upgraded the Processor, it is blinding fast, wish it could go to 32 GB RAM (limited to 16 GB onboard), upgraded to the 512 GB SSD drive ... overall, the value, with discounts for a machine this capable for development (I'm a Cloud Developer) and the battery life, lightness ( like under 3 lbs) means I can plug into my USB 3 docking station and project on two 22 in monitors, or unplug and take it with me to a client site with ease. Great work machine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a Sony Vaio ultrabook that stopped functioning. I’m a Product Manager so I look for product quality and price point. This is a solid built, firm keyboard, ultra light, and vivid screen laptop. For those that want a real laptop and not a fruit.
Highly recommend.
Not a Lenovo employee nor have I been paid by anyone to offer such a raving review. This is a nice looking excellent product.
