[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been eyeing this laptop for a few years now. But with kids and bills to pay, it kept being pushed to the bottom of the list. Finally, I saved enough to buy this laptop and I was pleasantly surprised. I used to own a Microsoft surface pro 3 which I was super happy with performance wise except I couldn't use it on my lap. It always had to be on a flat surface. This Carbon is way faster than my surface pro which I thought was already fast.
A few suggestions for improvement which I think some will be taken cared of in 7th Gen:
1. Larger SSD - I upgraded mine to 2Tb. (I'm an IT developer for 20 years. Pls. upgrade only if you know how to, or have someone help you upgrade.)
2. Easier access to the microsd. My surface didn't have a cover on it and it was a push release. I transfer pictures a lot using my microsd and so now I have the cover removed. But removing the cover means I can't use the SIM which I also wanted to use.
3. Ctrl and Fn key on the keyboard - yes we can swap in the bios but there has to be a better solution than that!
4. Fingerprints easy to see - if fridges figured out how to make them fingreprints proof, then maybe lenovo can figure it out too?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was recommended by a friend as a good laptop for a frequent traveller. It is light, compact and has a sturdy feel. It travels well on domestic and international flights, with battery life that means I have yet to run out of power on the longest flights.
Haven't had it long enough to rate the reliability. But it has been stable since I both it a month ago.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent performance as I expected . I charge it during the night and don’t have to worry for the whole day .. also boots up in 2 min No hassles.. But I did manage to dent the edge in 2 weeks as I travel a lot. It’s just a chip on the edge that I can live with:)
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the Lenovo X1 Carbon a few days ago. Its a powerful laptop in a small package. Beautiful design and very sleek. I also purchased the docking station for connection to multiple external monitors and the 14" Lenovo sleeve. I wish the docking station was simpler to use. My old set up had a very simple connection and power on but the Lenovo system is quite working. Requires opening the laptop and powering on from the laptop rather than the docking station which is not ideal. Another feature that could make this laptop better is offering an upgraded video card. I run 3 external monitors from the laptop and I noticed that one of the monitors has a faint pulse in its output. Other than that I am happy with the products.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this computer. I switched from Mac so had some concerns about the display. I bought a Costco model that had all the specs I wanted but lacked the QHD. After all, the other features make up for it. I love the keyboard action and overall professional appearance but most of all, the performance. I look forward to years of use.
