Am a IT senior developer, and my life and passion is about working on computes, having used multiple laptops in past 15 years, I can say this Thinkpad is the best in Performance, Quality, Reliability and for a little rough use. Have dual OS on it and I play with it and can proudly say worth the buck ! Before buying this I had a Mac Pro which is a very bad decision because of two things majorly - First about reliability, Mac is very delicate and within 3 weeks of buying got damage, Second about performance as well as ability of running high memory usage programs. for both Thinkpad Carbon is a straight winner
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this computer a few weeks ago and overall I like it. Among the things I love about it are its performance, speed, and little details, like for example, the keyboard and the screen are very comfortable, and is supper thin and light. The computer runs great overall, with two exceptions, the sound system is not loud enough and the wireless keeps losing connectivity.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far, so good. I've only had my laptop for about a month. I bought it to replace a computer that was 5 years old. It's amazing how much better computers can get in 5 years. My new computer is far lighter and faster. I largely use it for school work and running the occasional r or stata program and thus far have had no problems.
I went from a Dell PC to a Macbook Pro and now to my new ThinkPad x1 Carbon 6th generation and can honestly say this is by far the BEST computer I have owned. in years! It is a joy to work with it, fantastic picture quality, the best keyboard of any computer and oh so light! It has become not just my main work computer at home, but it's literally replaced my iPad due to its awesome size and light weight. The only tiny drawback is the touchpad, which is not as smooth as my old Macbook Pro. However, I've always been a trackball user, so it hasn't been much of an inconvenience for me. I'm also getting used to using the trackpoint which I'm finding more convenient than the touchpad. So all an all I can't imagine why anyone would not consider buying a ThinkPad. It might become the last computer you ever buy!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this laptop Thinkpad X1 carbon about a month ago. In comparison it was half the weight of the other one I was considering which is significant when you travel as much as I do and have to be mobile. It is very fast and surprised me with how much faster than my previous machine. It works great and I had no issues connecting to printers, drives, Bluetooth, etc. The only issue is the video and Ethernet connections changed from the previous generation that I owned and dongles were not included with the laptop.
