I purchased the micro radio with the mxta24 antenna with the 6db antenna. We do a lot of overlanding and get pretty remote in Arizona’s deserts. We also have small portable radios and the range is fantastic. More than we expected. Installing the items was easy. Thank you.

Nice Radio but not repeater friendly

I purchased 2 of these a month ago and they work fine around a mile maybe 2. The repeater feature seems to be useless.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If you are only receiving two miles with the 40 watt MXT400 you may need to improve the location of your antenna. We are also interested in learning why you deem the repeater feature "useless". Midland Customer Service is available at 816-241-8500 M-F 8am-4:40pm CST.

So far so good! I bought this radio for off road use but have not had the chance to use it other than testing in the city. Keep in mind when buying these radios that they don't all come with and Antenna and cable. Great product and very fast accurate shipping. Get your GRMS licensee "Its easy to do" and buy yourself a Midland Radio. This blows CB out of the water and is a big improvement over FRS as far as range and clarity is concerned.
My 1 complaint is I wish they would include the Low power FRS channels on these radios so that you can talk down to FRS users as not everyone on the trail has GRMS capabilities.

I’m learning this whole GMRS radio thing and had a 5w radio now I’ve got 15w & 40w w/ antennas & coax from Midland. They’ve been fairly helpful over the phone as well.

Easy to use and works great

I bought this last year and it was simple to install and use. No repeaters close enough to hit, but worked really well hitting the people we needed to, all less than 10 miles out. I didn't get to test the distance until recently and wow! I was greatly impressed. MXT400 with a magnetic mounted MXTA26 6db gain center mounted on my truck roof. I was hitting a base station MXT400 with a 5db gain mounted 25 ft off the ground, no problem at 35 miles over tree covered, hilly terrain. I highly recommend the MXT400 and the MXTA26.

I bought this a few months ago and it is awesome. I installed this in my center console of my 2016 GMC Denali because of it's small size. It looks like it came with the truck. Strong signal and great quality are the best part.

This radio has alot of range when using it in a convoy of multiple vehicles spanning over a couple miles. The size is pretty compact so it was really easy to mount in my jeep but not take up alot of leg space. Buttons are easy to press while driving and the channel buttons on the mic is a added plus!
