Excellent radio. Range is good, much better than a cb radio with less static. Looking into the repeater now to maximize range just wondering if 10 watts will be enough. Radios install easily into John Deere 8000/9000 tractors

Impressive radio, and seems like it's built like a tank. I am running this off an AC power supply (12v/ 30a/ 360w) and very happy with the overall function. When connected to a 10Ah LiPho battery is couldn't quite get up to high power and glitched a bit (powering from anything but an automotive or truck battery may be challenging for high power- a power supply like the one I mentioned works great.) I still have not figured out how to use CTCSS privacy codes which is what all the X Talkers we use are currently using- not a huge issue but mildly annoying (DCS works fine, but not all my X Talkers have DCS privacy code options.) Also trying to figure out if the radio will do the RB chirp when a transmission is over- so far unsuccessful and that would be a helpful feature. Only other drawback is that the microphone plug (looks similar to RJ45) can pull out slightly and lose contact without any obvious sign of that so you can be talking thinking that you are broadcasting when you're not. Overall happy and this was a great value.

So far I am very pleased with the mtx400vp3 bundle. I am changing my entire fleet over from CB radios to these GMRS radios. Testing so far has shown much better range than the CB's, along with less static/background noise. I think once harvest starts, my entire crew will be able to communicate more effectively, and hopefully help harvest run a little smoother

I really like this radio. It is simple to use, not overwhelming for a GMRS beginner. I easily programmed it to communicate with local repeaters. I use it as a base station, and it gets excellent reception. Transmissions are received well on the other end. A good solid unit.

We use the MXT400 in the timber areas over the MXT115 out on the open prairie. we are in the timber clearing brush. the communication is greatly improved over the CB radios we used to have.
