Well built, attractive design and intuitive layout. Midland keeps install super simple.
Only criticism is that the power and ground should plug into the back of the unit itself, not have 8” of wire protruding out the back.

I don't know what mountain tops they are standing on to get these to work passed 2 miles. I upgraded from 15 watts to 40 watts for zero improvement in workable range. The ranges on the boxes are miss leading at best. Also how hard would it have been to include the weather band on this?

All in all it's a great little radio. Sound quality receive and transmit are great. Only issue I have found with it is the connector for the microphone tends to pull away from the radio effectively disconnecting the microphone. It should mate up better than this on an upper end radio. RJ connectors aren't a new thing really.
