This is my second infuser - each machine is different, so you need to get used to the idiosyncrasies of the machine, but it will deliver jaw dropping crema - Had my first one for over 7 years - WELL worth the investment!
When making a latte, the gauge hardly moved. I called and was directed to a video to check if gauge were working properly and it was. I have compressed my grind harder and the pressure gauge still just moves out of the preinfusion stage....though my shot tastes good. I had to program it several times before my setting held.
Breville infusor-- a quality item. My last one held up for 10 years. Only I liked the last one better. You could see the water level from the front. Ant the top was metal, not plastic. But the new one is better thought through as far as cleaning and keeping the water fresh goes.
I love the infuser! Makes great espresso drinks and really easy to use. One downside is the amount of water it uses. I need to drain the water dry at least once every two days (typically have 2 espresso drinks per day). If you can look past that small flaw, everything else is great!
I have had various other espresso machines over the years, and keep coming back to Breville and the Infuser in particular. I love the buttons for measured pulls (two shot or one shot, adjustable). This is my second: I passed my older one on to family. I love the ease of use and setting it up. I like the cleaning reminders (and descaling reminder on my new machine). It is a workhorse --- not flashy but it delivers good flavor and excellent crema. Very reliable, easy to learn and use, and it's a Breville.
