The best espresso machine.

My wife and I bought 2 espresso machines costing over twice as much as the Breville Infuser. They lasted for about 8 months each. I have had the Breville for well over a year now and it is working perfectly. One very minor glitch that didn't affect the pour at all was taken care of by Breville at no cost. Shipping was paid for by Breville. The extras, like the accessory holder behind the drip tray, the magnetic holder for the tamper and the "razor" to level out the coffee in the filter holder are really great. I could not be more pleased. Would I recommend Breville espresso machines? You bet I would.

The cat's meow of Espresso makers -- We love ours
on December 7, 2019

After a trip to Italy back about 7 years ago I set out on a quest to find a home espresso maker that would deliver us coffee nirvana every morning. I read many many reviews of expensive espresso makers and then I stumbled on the Breville Infuser costing less than 1/2 the price. We took a shot and bought one. This machine has produced at least 3 to 5 americanos or double shots of espresso every day for over 5 years. We tried many different types and brands of coffee, finally settling on our favorite. Surprisingly from a source people love to hate. I clean it religiously with the cleaning tables and a 50/50 mix of water and vinegar. We love our Breville Infuser. Best kitchen appliance purchase ever.
This is my 2nd Breville Infuser. The first infuser lasted over 10 years making 4-6 cups daily. Descaling was performed routinely. This infuser makes excellent expresso and cappuccino. Try Ripple plant based milk to froth. I decided to have my 1st Breville infuser refurbished as for a backup. A week without my daily cappuccino is one week too long to wait.
The service reprehensive did say is they could not fix the one I returned they would give me another refurbished one. To my surprise they shipped me a new Breville infuser. Now that is customer service at it's best. Thank you.
Forget all of those frou-frou Italianate units that look cool but are fussy and unreliable. Our first unit lasted 8 years, making 4-6 double-cups a day, and might have gone longer still if we’d gotten the memo that vinegar was no longer recommended as a decalcifier. We now have two more of these, in two separate locations. We do have some concerns that these are not as sturdy as our original - one of them has a balky rotary dial, and the other sometimes permits moisture to invade the little storage drawer behind the purge drawer. But the basic functionality is superb, starting with an effective thermocoil heater that will bring it and bring it, so long as you periodically decalcify. Once you figure out your ideal grind, tamping pressure and degree of filling the filter cup, you can go on automatic. This unit was our gateway drug to Breville - we’ve had a number of friends and family buy this or other Breville machines after exposure to ours. A wonderful product, and cost-effective over time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Stop working two years after purchase

Al maintenance done according to the manufacturer recommendations. First the pump die and was replace with an aftermarket but did not solve the problem. I tried to buy replacement parts but most of them are not available any more. It was great while it was working, but I was expecting for something at this price range to last a little longer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are very sorry to hear about your experience with your appliance. We would very much like to see if we can assist you. We do have an account for you in our system. We'll be sending you an email shortly. Just reply to it, and we'll be happy to see how we can help you from there.
I could not have been happier with the experience or the approach. In a world of mid level service you have earned a customer for life. Even something as simple as going to the UPS store when I dropped of the defective Unit and the UPS attendant saying" Nobody provided this service" all the packaging and wrapping were taken care of by Breville. Made it easier on me. I know its wrapped up in the cost and happy to pay for the service.
I had only had it for a couple of months, had run about 10-15 coffees through it, when it started to smell like hot plastic. The frother was being very difficult; spraying milk boiling erratically. It was replaced without incident, and in a very timely manner, but I’m still a little nervous when making my lattes. I’ll see how it goes.

Great coffee slight design flaw
on August 21, 2021

I got this machine based upon good reviews and thinking higher end than the prior machines I had would have less complications. The coffee/espresso/latte is great and the machine works well, easy to use. So all is good as expected there. However there is a big design flaw with the steam escape drain under the machine in that it drains water not only into the drip tray but also into the storage tray and in between the two trays on the bottom. The storage tray is effectively useless because it routinely gets water in it so your stored wrench or filter baskets sit in water if it were used. I routinely have to take out the drip tray to empty it and find water underneath it and inside the storage tray as well. This is long before the drip tray is full so it is not overflow. They need to engineer a better system for containing the steam escape water. I just accept that the storage box behind the drip tray is not to be used at all and towel dry under the drip tray weekly and live with it but for the high price of this model I expected higher quality than this. The machine is very noisy in the steaming mode so first person up in the morning using it wakes any light sleepers up but not a big deal because the sound of latte/capuchino being made is part of the nice experience.
