Not listening to consumers - want stainless steel bowl
on October 12, 2024

Nonstick coating is extremely toxic and something most consumers are drifting away from as we become more aware of chemicals/ etc. Wish Breville made a stainless steel inner bowl for those that already have this product and a new product WITHOUT a non stick bowl. We want stainless steel bowls please provide the pro with a stainless steel bowl! :) - don’t recommend this product until a stainless steel bowl is provided

I loved this instant pot when we received it but not so long after the inner pot started to smell. I tried everything to get rid of the smell and I just couldn't. I couldn't even keep it in the cabinets because it made everything around it smell like onions gone bad. So I had to toss it. A big waste of money. It was so hard to get in contact with support to replace the inner pot, so I just gave up.

When it was time to release the steam, all the brown sauce splashed my kitchen wall. It took hours to clean my white wall. I’ll never do that again! Return it the next day!
I use my machine a lot, particular for making various forms of rice (Risotto is a favorite). I have also made chilis, stews and soups with good results. I like filling it up, turning it on and forgetting it while doing other stuff. However, there are a couple of things that bother me:
1) The searing is not worth its name. I always sear elsewhere and pour it over to finish in the pot.
2) Why do recipes say it take 6 min when that's only the time on full pressure?? It takes a while to reach that full pressure and for some programs it take quite a while getting back down again.
I would say I don't gain any time when boiling rice, but it is convenient to load it and let it run while fixing with the rest.

One Appliance Does it All

Say hello to the modern-day pressure cooker that does so much more. Leave it to Breville to design such a thoughful appiance. I don't have a lot of space in my kitchen. When I got the Fast Slow Pro, I got rid of my cheap crock pot. The Fast Slow Pro does an outstanding job of both fast and slow cooking. And I never worry that it will malfunction (remember the horror stories about pressure cookers exploding), or being a fire hazard (hello cheap crock pot). I love my Fast Slow Pro!

Great but NOT SO GREAT Safety features. Wish there was a safety alert for inside pot placement.:(

Mine was working great and I really relied on it's safer features alerting you when things weren't right. But, there is no alert for the inside pot and it lets you continue without it. My machine is ruined:(

We are very sorry to hear about this situation with your BPR700! Could you please send us an email to askus@brevilleusa.com? We'd like to gather some information and see what we can do to assist.
The cooking results from the Breville Fast Slow Pro are excellent, but there are 2 issues I find troubling. 1. the seal on the the lid is quite ticklish. If you haven't got it just right, the cooker won't proceed to cooking after preheating; 2. you don't know until the end of a (lengthy) preheating phase that your lid isn't sealed. If one knew earlier on that the lid isn't sealed, one would waste less time.
