I bought this vacuum primarily because it’s sold as having mapping capabilities and the ability to program/schedule various cleaning types (Auto, certain areas, etc.) but have been very disappointed in the app. There is no ability to program a routine cleaning besides on Auto mode to clean the whole house. Not to mention it takes weeks for it to generate a map because it gets stuck on everything (including any rug over 1/4” thick) and can’t store the map until in gets lucky and makes it around the house without getting stuck. I also just found out that if you change your WiFi password or network, there is no way to simply update the WiFi without resetting the whole vacuum - you simply lose all connectivity, it’s starts running at random times and you can only reset (and lose all mapping, programming, etc.)
It does a decent job cleaning when it makes it around the house but not worth the hassle
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have now had 4 Ecovac Deebots. Every one of them has failed. When they work they are great but when they fail thats the end. They will not stay connected to the internet and their support is worthless, foreign country reading from a script no help at all. I really wish they would fix their problems as I think it could be a great product but needs a lot of help with the software, and battery issues.
It’s not smart as it should be. It bumps into the same obstacles many time trying to go through, vacuum few times over vacuumed area. Would be better if it would go around perimeter and then inside the area. Having hard time to find charger.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about a month ago and have many troubles using it. When I can get it to clean, it does a good job cleaning the floors. However, if anything in my house changes, like putting up the Christmas tree, it easily confuses the machine. It often cannot find its charger and thinks it is in a different room than it is. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it or return it to the store. It isn't as easy to use as I'd hoped.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for the review. For the Christmas tree, we would recommend using the virtual boundary ability of the DEEBOT to keep the robot from going into that area. We'd also recommend placing the charging dock in an area pressed up firmly against a wall with a few feet of space clear on each side to help the DEEBOT make it back home.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love seeing how much it picks up daily. It has some power in its little machine. It gets stuck when it tries to get under furniture though. You have to learn to put those little virtual barriers up to stop it from repeating that over and over. I really love it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought two DEEBOT 900 series Floor Cleaning Robots because of the size of our home and different cleaning times needed. I setup the first cleaning robot to see if it met our needs cleaning before I opened the second. Even thought I thought our floors were clean, I vacuumed and washed our tile floors prior to setting up our cleaning robot the first time, I was appalled by the amount of dirt and debris that the cleaner picked up. I immediately setup our second Floor Cleaning Robot and once again surprised by the dirt it collected. We run our Robots three times a week and will continue this regiment because of all the dirt they continue to collect. The WiFi capabilities allows me to see when they are running and if they returned to their recharging center. We can feel the difference while walking barefoot or in stocking feet throughout the house. Can’t imagine not having them now they are set up.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So glad I got this robot vacuum; it seemed a little pricey at first but compared to other similarly-equipped models is actually quite reasonable. A friend has the non-mapping version and recommended springing for the extra functionality, glad I did. The app is also a great feature, I can vacuum my apartment from anywhere in the world. Though it's a little unnerving at times just how much dust and dog hair this little machine picks up when I think my place is already pretty clean...it's definitely effective.
