Good vacuum power TERRIBLE app

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the Deebot 900 for just over 6 months now. I am very pleased with the vacuums power, brushes and the overall job it does cleaning. My biggest issue is with the app and the mapping. First off the app only works with smartphones and is a battery hog. It would be really nice to be able to control this thing from my laptop/iPad. Every time the vacuum runs you will need to manually shut down the app after the cleaning cycle or it will drain the phones battery very quickly. Creating boundaries for the map is not the easiest due to the app stuttering and freezing if there are multiple boundaries. As far as the mapping goes, it took us over a week to get a good map and I had to follow the vacuum around creating no go zones every time the vacuum got stuck, and it gets stuck often (this was a 2 hour process). Even with a good map, proper boundaries set and without moving the charging dock (or the furniture/whats on the floor/etc) the Deebot has a hard time finding the dock and at least once a week can not figure out where it is at the start of a cleaning cycle and tries to create a new map. At this point I spend more time trying to get the app and map to function properly than it would take to vacuum my house with the upright vacuum we have.
This would be a great robo vac if Ecovacs could get their app more stable, across more platforms outside of smartphones and work on the vacuum location mapping.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Roomba 500 series replacement

Love the mapping feature and ability to send it to various rooms in the house. It better negotiates floor rugs and wood flooring transitions very easily. The S-Like methodic pattern of vacuuming finishes quicker. On standard suction it is non-intrusive to watch TV while the vacuum is running. My inner geek is squealing with excitement with all the features of this bot!!! I know this bot can be pricey but if you watch you can catch it on sales at reasonable prices.
There was some confusion regarding which app to use for android but I sent a question out to ecovacs and they were quick to respond (FYI App for the Deebot 900 should be "Deebot 2017")
a couple of cons but not deal breakers in my opinion: There is no IFTTT integration yet. (HINT HINT Ecovacs)
Multiple floor mapping for those two story homes (but I feel they could possible fix this with a software / firmware update)
I would recommend this to a friend!

LDS malfunction

I bought ecovas 901 a month ago, now when I turn on it can not run, and send a message on my smartphone is" LDS malfuncion", then it stop working. How can I fix that issuse?
The DeeBot does a thorough job of cleaning. I was skeptical at first because I’ve owned these before they had a camera that mapped out the room and they didn’t work that great.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The mapping is a bit finicky. It had to be replaced due to loosing its map everynight. I had areas to avoid and it kept losing them. I would give it 5 stars If not for that. it does a great job cleaning though.
I bought 2. Neither can consistently locate their charging stations and manually placing on the charger doesn’t always work as well. When they do vacuum dona good job.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

To help the robot on its journey home, please make sure to leave a few feet of space clear on each side of the charging dock, as well as limiting the amount of infrared signals between the dock and the robot. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my deebot about two months ago, I love how I can use an app to tell my deebot when to vacuum. It picks up pretty decent, lifts itself pretty good to any elevated ground. I’m giving it a four store because it doesn’t pick all the pieces on the floor. Sometimes I’ll see some a couple of tiny pieces on the floor. But overall it’s pretty decent, my apartment is usually clean and not clutter. So the deebot does great.
