PERFECT PRINTER!

The Epson 5100 is a great printer. I really wanted a smaller, less bulky printer and this size is perfect for personal use. Unlike my old larger one, this one is smaller and does everything my old one does and doesn’t take up a lot of space! I was skeptical of the set-up, but was surprised at how easy the LCD and wireless installation was. It also prints more quickly than I expected, even with 2 sided printing and the fact that I can print from anywhere is so convenient and it is compatible for Apple and Android products. Plus, the quality of the printing was excellent, especially the color copies.
The one thing is that with this printer, you can only use Epson cartridges. And although you need several cartridges, unlike my old one, I like the fact that I only have to change as needed and not the entire cartridge. It can also hold a lot more paper which was another extra bonus. It is just a bit noisier than I expected, but I don’t really mind since I love all the other feature.

Great for basic home printing!

First of all, let’s see what’s in the box. I unpacked it and and in addition to the Epson Expression Home XP-5100 there is a CD that you use to install the drivers for Windows. A power cord to plug in the printer, and 4 ink cartridges. The printer is an ink jet so it’s perfect for printing just regular documents for the home user. Set up was easy, it comes with a quick start guide to help you with easy setup. First of all, I put in the CD to install the software that came with the printer. You just follow the easy directions and then it comes to a screen where you set up your wireless connection to your home network. There’s also a color screen on the printer where you can set up your wifi connection yourself. I was a little disappointed that the printer didn’t have a touch screen. If you want to type out your password you have to use the arrow buttons to get to each letter and hit OK to select each letter. That was a bit cumbersome. Then you also have to insert the CD in each computer on your network to install the drivers on every computer you have. This is kind of an old way to set up a printer, I know that other brands have apps that you can download to your phone to complete set up, but luckily you only have to do it once. Also if you don’t have a wifi network, I noticed there was a USB port that you can plug directly into your printer to print from. On the box it says it works with both Windows and Mac computers.
After I got the printer set up, I printed a few documents. The ink dried fast and the colors were vivid. Everything you are looking for in a home printer. It also includes 2 sided printing if you want to print on the front and back of your paper. The printer is an 3 in one printer, meaning you can print, copy and scan. So there is no fax if you are looking to replace your fax machine with it. If you want to print wirelessly from your phone, you can use the Apple Air Print or Google Cloud print from both an iPhone or an Android. The Epson XP-5100 also comes with an SD memory card slot so that you can print documents or photos right from your memory card. I didn’t try this myself, but I thought it was a great shortcut feature. The printer also has the ability to print legal paper sizes and envelopes, which is great if you have a home business. The scanning feature was intuitive and easy to figure out and I felt like it was a faster scanning time than the flat bed scanner I used to own. Overall I was impressed with the bright colors it printed, the easiness of printing on 2 sides and the easiness to scan. The biggest annoyance is that the screen isn’t a touch screen. It’s a great printer for the price. I’m giving it to my daughter for college so she can print out term papers. I don’t think it would be that great for a business, but it’s perfect for basic home use. Perfect for the home

First I’d like to talk about the ink cartridges before I go into more details. From what I have researched online and locally, Epson Ink Cartridges are cheaper then other brands. So that right there is something to think about before making a purchase if your trying to decide which brand to get. It will certainly help the wallet, when ink runs out.
Now, onto the printer...
Out of the box, this printer was easy to set up and install the software to my computer, with easy to follow instructions. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to set up, just the basic computer knowledge is all you’ll need. Also included is 4 ink cartridges, so your ready to print straight from the box. The next thing you’ll want to do is set up your WiFi connection on the printer. This printer is compatible with cloud printing, however if you don’t have a phone or just want to print a different way, there is a USB port to plugin a flash drive or you can even use a memory card. I like having the different options.

I like that this printer is a 3 in 1, allowing you to scan, print or copy. The printer features a color screen, with bright vivid colors and easy to read. However it’s not touch screen, and really that’s okay with me. The printer also prints front and back. This is certainly something I always look for, it’s such a handy feature.
As far as quality, the printer does an amazing job. The color comes out great, the ink dries rather quickly and prints pretty fast to. Same goes with scanning.
Overall I’m more then pleased with this printer, it’s not going to cost an arm and a leg to buy ink cartridges as I need them.. the color is bright, I have a scanner that I’m thrilled with and a bright screen, it will do everything I need and is perfect for home use. One last thing, this printer will only use Epson brand ink cartridges, and that’s perfectly okay with me, cause again the ink cartridges for this brand are one of the cheapest out there. Wonder in a box

The setup is very simple and only took about 10 minutes total. And I also would like to add that it’s the perfect size to be able use anywhere. The Epson Expression Home XP-5100 All-in-One Printer is by far the quietest printer I have used. Was very easy to set up to my home network and to all of my devices which was great because it’s compatible with everything. I was amazed at the speed of the printing process, with others I’ve owned in the past this one is the quickest. One of my favorite parts of using this printer is the ink cartridges it only works with epson cartridges and it if one color runs out I only have to replace one instead of the entire cartridge.
I really like being able to store my extra paper in the compartment below,. I can finally print at home and not have to worry if my printer will actually work or connect to my phone. Scanning documents is now a breeze, if you have pictures saved onto a sd-card this printer also has the slot to print as well. I highly recommend this to become a staple in anyone’s home as it has in my own. Great low budget printer

The Epson Expression XP-5100 is a great small in one printer. The print quality is great on this printer. I tried both photos and documents and both look amazing. It was very quiet which is a good thing in my house. Having it setup on my WiFi is great too so I don’t have to run more wires and It doesn’t have to be connected directly to a PC so I can set it up in any room.
This printer is great for a home printer. The one complaint that I have is that there is no document reader on it. This is a big thing for me because I scan multiple documents at once. Other than that this printer is great and I would recommend it to my friends. This is a review for the Epson Workforce WF-2860 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

This printer was very easy to set up. The step-by-step instructions were easy to understand for the most part, but I had one small issue. As part of the alignment instructions it states, “…choose the square with the fewest streaks”. I had to do that one twice because it was a bit confusing. But it turned out OK.
The Epson is lightweight and compact which is great for a small office or someone with limited counter space. I was able to easily print from my phone once I set the printer up on my wireless network. My favorite feature is the double-sided printing. It has several other features that I’m looking forward to using like photo scanning to Facebook or a cloud and the custom photo collage feature. Overall, this one is worth the money. Small But Mighty!

I'm really impressed with my Epson XP-Small-In-One Printer because it reminds me of me.Small but mighty! I have a lot to get done and this certainly helps.I have big project and and a lot of them. Between the students, mogals and social media work going on in my house I put my home office equipment through its paces and The Small-In-One has earned its place in my home office.
I like it because it does does it all,beautifully
.It is sleek in appearance and takes up very little space.It is easy to set up.The screen tells you what to do. Set up took less than 5 minutes and WiFi was very simple to get going as was the print job itself. Printing is a little noisy,but it is not a deal breaker.The ability to print really nice photos straight from a card is pretty cool too! But the most impressive thing for me is the fact that I didn't need a computer to do the set up or initialize the printer. I'm in printing heaven because everything is at my command and my time.

Insanely easy to install & great features!

What a wonderful printer! I never had a printer that was this easy to install and fully understand how to setup and use. The installation process was a breeze and had the settings fully customized to my preferences in a matter of minutes. The firmware was even a piece of cake to update and so was registering the device. This printer is the perfect size too! I love the WIFI printing capabilities from my iPhone! You really can't find a better printer for the price!
This printer comes highly recommended for the novice as it's so simple to setup! It's a great value with many features that come with higher priced printers!
