Great for everyday printing!

This printer is great for my everyday printing needs! I like to coupon and so I do end up printing quite a bit of coupons and the Expression Home XP-5100 Small-in-One Printer really does the job quite nicely.
The printer itself was really easy to set up and came with directions that walked you through every step. As someone who, admittedly, isn't super tech-savvy, I love that the guide answered any questions I could've had! Installing the ink cartridges was a piece of cake, too.
One feature that I absolutely love is the ability to print through Wi-Fi. It is SO convenient that the printer connects to devices in my home, and I found that I've actually used this function multiple times already. You do have to download an app to print from the device, but it's available in the Android and iTunes stores for free!
I also really like being able to scan, copy, and print all with the same device! It saves me so much money and time when I need to scan and send important documents from home. Overall, I'm very pleased with the quality and performance of this printer, would definitely recommend!

Nice size

Just finished setup. Took a long time! I thought it was complicated. Nice size, but hard to set up. Need better support for Mac. I've always used Epson and never found automatic setup for Mac people.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I cant print from my computer by usb cable.

I can't print photos they are in my computer. I don't have a smart phone or wi fi . You tend to forget people like me. That don't have all the tecnoligy

The best printer I have ever used!

I've never been so impressed with a printer! When it arrived, I was surprised at how compact it was. It does not take up a lot of space, which is perfect!
The LCD screen and wireless connectivity is flawless! You can print from your phone, tablet or even the sd card slot.

Set up was very easy and took less than 5 minutes. It came with 4 cartridges and was a quick installation, including the nozzle checks.
The 150 paper holder makes it so I can load less often. What I like the most is that it is fast printing capable and auto 2 sided print features. My last printer was an Epson xp300 and the xp5100 takes the cake!

Excellent home printer

The Epson Expression Home XP-5100 All-in-One Printer is an excellent home printer and copier. First of all, the printer looks nice. It is small enough that it doesn't take up tons of space on my desk. I also appreciate the black color because it looks more sleek and modern and fits in with my room decor. Unboxing and setting up the printer was a relatively easy process. Since I have a Mac, I could not use the enclosed software disc. Instead, I had to go to the product's website in order to download the latest software. I had a few hiccups there as it didn't want to work in a few instances and would give me error messages but I was able to get through it. You have the choice of either connecting the printer to your wireless connection or using a direct USB connection. I set mine up to connect via my router and it found the router and connected with no problems at all. Since I didn't want to leave it connected to the router at that moment, I turned off the wi-fi and connected via a USB cable and it worked just fine that way as well.
The printer comes with 4 ink cartridges that are very simple to install. You literally just pop them in and give it about five minutes and you are good to go and finish the rest of the setup and print the test pages. It will print several pages where you have to select the print quality that looks the best. The whole setup process from start to finish probably takes about 20 minutes or so. There is supposed to be a way to print directly from your iPhone but I haven't tried that since my iPhone pictures are already on my Mac. I did print several pictures, just on regular printer paper, and I was very surprised by how good of a quality that they had. The color was vibrant and strong. One of my favorite features of the printer, is the copier/scanner. I love that it has this function and you simply lay the paper on the scanner and copy it. This works amazing and the scanning and copying capabilities are excellent. You can copy and scan directly from the printer, using the control panel. This eliminates having to fire up the computer to make a copy of something and makes it act more like a copier instead of just a printer. When it comes to printing, it actually prints faster than I was expecting. It's not lightning fast if you have lots of pages to print, but for most home use purposes, it prints faster than most printers that I have had in the past. Another feature that I am particularly excited about if the fact that it can print wirelessly from your Chromebook. With two Chromebooks in the house, this feature is exceptional and something that I have had difficulties with before with other printers.
Like most color printers, the ink cannot be refilled in the cartridges and it is quite expensive. I haven't used it long enough to run out of ink so I cannot speak for how the value of the ink is or how long it lasts. All in all, I would highly recommend this printer for anyone who needs a simple, intuitive home printer and wants to print in color, photos or with a wireless connection. I think that the printer is easy enough for anyone to use if you take a few minutes to learn all of the functions.
