Good fridge, except:
1) the water dispenser spout is installed far out, almost beyond the freezer door, and the drip tray doesn't catch the drips, so there is a constant water stain down the freezer door. If there was an additional tray to purchase which extends a little, I would purchase.
2) as soon as the fridge door opens, the fridge floods with condensation like no other fridge I've seen. Not sure if there's a way to prevent this, any feedback would be great.
Other than those two negatives, the fridge is good.

The drip tray is designed to catch the water as much as possible but when this overflows can cause to drip down the front of the door. BIGGEST PIECE OF JUNK I EVERY SAW .THE IDIOT THAT DESIGNED IT MADE IT SO THE SHELVES ARE NONADJUSTABLE, YOU HAVE TO SLIDE THE MILK IN ON THE SHELF YOU CAN NOT TILT THE BOTTLE BECAUSE IT TO TIGHT OF SPACE SEE PHOTO. ALSO THE TEMPERATURE CHANGES ON IT OWN. THIS IS LIKE A MYSTERY ONCE A WEEK OR SO THE THE TEMPERATURE RESETS IT SELF AND FREEZE THINGS. WE THINK IT MAY BE HAPPENING WHEN MY WIFE WIPES OFF THE DISPLAY. MAY NEVER FIGURE THIS OUT. ALSO AT TIME THE ICE MAKES WILL SHUT ITS SELF OFF AND WE RUN OUT OF ICE NOT KNOWING IT HAS A MIND OF ITS OWN. IT ALSO HAS A LOUD FAN THAT START AND STOPS EACH TIME YOU OPEN OR CLOSE THE DOOR. IT ALSO. ALSO THE WATER SPOUT DRIPS WATER AFTER FILLING A GLASS SO ENDS UP ON FLOOR. I AM A RETIRED REFRIGERATION MECHANIC SO I HAVE SEEN THE BEST & THE WORST AND I HAVE TO SAYS THIS IS THE WORST I HAVE EVER SEEN. IT TIME FOR WHIRLPOOL TO STOP MAKING REFRIGERATORS

Broke down first month

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One month approximately after delivery the ice maker stopped working. Service tech was sent and with further review the unit had leaked all the refrigerant. The tech installed a new dryer with dye to aid in finding the leak has been working for about 3 weeks hoping the dryer was the leak!1

Good Unit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator replaced an LG with similar features and capacity. It is not loud as some reviews have stated; very quiet and appears to be built solid. The freezer area is smaller than the LG because of the ice maker design, where you lose the entire top shelf for the space occupied by the ice maker. Food storage drawers are not high quality, and will most likely crack or break after a couple of years of use. The LG unit was replaced due to a failed compressor after only 4 years. Hopefully Whirlpool has a longer life for the major components of their refrigerators.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this Refrigerator New in March2020 and it came with a slow Freon leak service man came did what he did and it is May18,2020 and we still do not have a working Refrigerator no Freon ! in 8 days a service man we'll be here and do what ever he can and we still well not have a Refrigerator that works .Not a happy camper

Great features, looks slick.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love it. Huge upgrade from our previous appliance. There is a switch that shuts off the compressor when the door is opened. We will see about the durability of that component in the long run. But I could see that being an issue with the compressor constantly being clicked on and off whenever the door is opened. So far so good though!

Fits Small Space

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fit into a small space with built-in cabinets surrounding the space. Difficult to find a full featured refrigerator that has a small footprint. This refrigerator was perfect in size and features. My only concern is that the rear area gets considerably colder, actually around freezing temps. Turning the temps up will allow the front area to get too warm.

Space wasting ice maker

We bought this unit sight unseen. We needed a side by side to replace a 14 year old conventional top freezer unit for reasons of physical limitations. This unit solved that problem, but introduced new ones, mainly related to the thru the door ice maker.
As others commented, for the 33 inch wide version, the thru the door ice maker takes up 30% of the freezer, and does this at eye level. This thru the door feature is wasteful of energy and space. Getting ice is a noisy process too. To turn off the unit you must slide out the entire ice tray to access a tiny switch using the other hand.
The door handles are pretentiously oversized and costly. Better materials should be used inside where it matters and modestly designed handles that refuse to yell “look at me, I’m classy commercial stainless”. For example the bins slide with considerable friction. Our old Whirlpool bins slide with ease. Shelves are non adjustable. LED lighting is excellent. It’s quieter than the old unit and the doors stay open by use of internal detents, then swing closed with assurance, an improvement over the old unit.
