Terrible Samsung

This tv is 4 months old. Since day one it struggles to stay connected to wifi. every time I turn it on the wifi wont connect. The firmware is up to date. Everything else works on my wifi. Once you get it to a point where you can go to the home screen and pull up couple of apps like DAZN, it will play for a few seconds and then start rebooting again. Don't plan on watching a whole show with this one. This TV does not support 5ghz wifi connection, It only supports 2.4ghz. Where is the 120 Motion Rate? barely 40 or 60!!! As a result, streaming quality is spotty at best. There are many TVs in this price range that support both wifi connections. FrustratingIt's a well documented issue online with Samsung TVs and no one seems to know how to fix it. The internet also disconnects frequently and requires me to go through. The issue is this not so smart tv. Is a piece of JUNK WASTE OF MONEY.
Pros: Built-in speakers
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, Not high def

Avoid this model

I purchased this 40" TV 8 months ago and rue the day I did. Samsung does not tell you that this 40 inch model does not have a complete aspect menu, particularly absent is the inability to zoom. Consequently, if you have a library of letterbox movie CD's, you are forced to view the movie in a reduced size. Having a zoom function would adjust the size to a full screen image without distorting the image as happens if you watch letterbox in the 16.9 aspect. Also irritating is Samsung's very skimpy owner's manual and the limited picture and audio options that allow one to adjust the TV to suit ones taste. The audio adjustment don't allow for base and treble adjustments beyond a few choices. I sold this TV and bought the new Vizio 40" V-Series 40" TV which has a full menu of aspect choices, a bulky owners manual that is user friendly with detailed instructions and images to help even the most challenged technical users.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Colors are vibrant. Relatively easy to set-up and connect to wi-fi. I had space limitations and the TV could not be mounted on the wall because of a pocket-door. I looked at a lot of TVs. The Samsung 40" fit perfectly in the space available. I would choose the Samsung again.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Durable
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love this tv

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was pleased when I got my tv and how easy it was to inbox and set up. Love the size and how thin it is compared to my larger projection 3D tv. The color resolution is much better but the sound is up and down for me. Sometimes it seems loud and others it's very quiet. This tv has improved our overall family time tremendously. We spend more time watching shows and Youtube as a whole instead of having each kid tucked into their personal devices. Also was very disappointed that they took away the Bluetooth feature. My kids do a lot of gaming so I was definitely look I g forward to that. Overall this smart tv does exactly what it should and my kids use this to stream YouTube videos more than watching regular tv. I would like to have seen Samsung go forward instead of stepping back with their design and features but for the price, I can't complain.

Beware - IPS panel instead of VA
on December 30, 2018

I bought this TV in 43" and had to return it due to Samsung putting an IPS panel in it and not a VA as advertised. Probably cutting costs.
Before you buy this TV make sure its a VA panel. Avoid the 43" one.
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
