Not the most ‘Eggciting’ toy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So the fun thing about Hatchimals is the thrill of the surprise and the reveal of just a scene and a tiny character wasn’t all that exciting for my 7 year old. It was kind of a let down to just look in a hole to see your scene, not much play value or excitement in that. Once it was open, my daughter wasn’t overly impressed with anything that the toy did. Some of the things twirl and have a slide, her favorite thing was pushing the top to open it. What she did love is that she has a lot of smaller hatchimal characters that she played with the scene set. Once she involved her other hatchimals with the scene, it was fun for her. So overall the ‘surprise’ aspect isn’t very exciting but the play value with other characters is fun.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think I might have just won mom of the year! My daughter got to unbox this surprise and she was thrilled! She loved her original Hatchimal so this was super exciting for her! After we took the video she told her paw paw about it and he immediately ran out to buy her a four pack of animals to go with her Hatchimal Home! This girl has put in lots of time playing with this toy and it’s perfect because she can carry it to her brothers soccer games with little fuss! Thank You Hatchimals!

My daughter loved her new CollEGGtible

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My six-year-old daughter loves Hatchimals. She regularly fills her pockets with them before heading to school each day for her to play with her friends during recess. She fell in love with the CollEGGtible as soon as she saw it and played with it nonstop for several days. She even insisted on taking it to class for "Show and Tell," and unfortunately one of her classmates was playing too roughly and broke the little panel on front off. My daughter still plays with it, but it's not as much fun now that it's slightly damaged. Still, I would recommend it!

So EggCiting

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My girls 4, 6 and 10 love ALL things hatchimal and this way by far their most favorite! When you peek through the top like a kaleidoscope you'll see the secret scene. This toy is the perfect size, they can take anywhere. With all their favorite hatchimals inside. Oh and the biggest surprise of them all, it comes with a little pink squirrel character. My girls were so eggcited to see her hanging out on the scene. They've enjoyed playing on the swing, slides or just allowing their colleggtibles to ride what looks like a carousel. Trust me, your littles won't be disappointed, they'd actually play for hours and beg for more play time. The only issue I had, was the packaging was so hard to open. If you can, open while your children are away because their anticipation could lead to tears. At least that's what happened here.

Hatchimals

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hatchimals has been around for a couple years now. This is a on time Easter verision for the kiddies. This unique item is reminiscent of a real life Tamagotchi, mixed with a Furby. You can pretty much get them at most major toy stores and retailers.
Hatchimals are an interactive toy, that let you “raise” your Hatchimal through several stages of life. The Hatchimal itself comes inside an “egg shell” and after Hatching, you play through “Baby Stage”, “Toddler Stage”, and “Kid Stage”. You can choose from several different “species” (models) of Hatchimals, such as a Penguala, Draggle, Burtle, Bearakeet or Owlicorn. The unique thing is that you wont know exactly which color of Hatchimal you’ve got until it hatches!
The box itself has a faux egg shell on the top that lets you see the color of the egg, which is the same as inside the packaging. It is important to read the instruction guide before beginning, because it tells you how to “unlock” the pins on the bottom of the Hatchimal egg to activate your new pal! The packaging is a little tricky to remove so be sure to help your little one with this process.
The In Egg Stage The In Egg is the first life stage of the Hatchimal, and it is up to you to nurture the egg, and get your Hatchimal to hatch. Each Hatchimal is unique, so it can take anywhere from 10-40 minutes to hatch. The more you play with your Hatchimal, the sooner it will hatch. During each stage, Hatchimals will display different eye colors. Each eye color corresponds to a different emotion, and the reference guide is a handy way to see what you should do for each eye color. For example our Hatchimal displayed red eyes, meaning it is feeling upset. To make the Hatchimal feel better, we rubbed the bottom of the egg and it feels better. During the In Egg stage, you can rub it, talk to it, and even tap on the shell and the Hatchimal will tap back! When your Hatchimal is ready to hatch its eyes will flash rainbow colored eyes when it is ready to come out!
The Hatching Stage When its eyes flash it is ready to hatch, but the Hatchimal won’t come out without encouragement. If you rub the sides of the egg, the Hatchimal will tap until it has broken most of the shell. Since the shell can break into small pieces while hatching, its best to have the Hatchimal on a clean surface such as a table top. Pull the Hatchimal out of the shell until you hear a “click”, and be sure to discard the empty shell pieces because you wont need them again!
Hatchimal Hatching-Hatchimal Review
The Baby Stage In this stage, the Hatchimal is just an enfant. It makes cute little baby noises and needs lots of attention. During this stage you can cuddle the Hatchimal by patting its head, or feed it by tiliting is head into your palm. Check out the eye color guide to make sure you’re giving the Hatchimal exactly what it needs in this stage. To play with the Hatchimal you can swing it around and it makes an adorable “wheeee” sound. When your Hatchimal has grown up more, its eyes will flash rainbow color again. The Hatchimal will sing “Hatchy Birthday” to signal that it is moving into the Toddler Stage.
The Toddler Stage During the Toddler Stage, the Hatchimal needs to learn things just like a real Toddler does. It is up to you to teach the Hatchimal how to walk and how to talk, and even how to dance. You teach it to walk by squeezing its belly until its eyes turn solid white, and tapping its head to lock it into the “listening mode”. One clap will teach the Hatchimal to move forward, and it can even spin around. The little wheels on the bottom make it easy to move, but we found it works much better on a smooth floor, than it does on the carpet. The Toddler Stage is super fun because you can really see the amazing range of things this little Hatchimal can do. Whevenever the Hatchimal completes the cycle of learning, it is ready to grow into the “Kid Stage”.
The Kid Stage This Stage is the final growth stage for your Hatchimal. Before transitioning into the Kid Stage, the Hatchimal will once again have rainbow flashing eyes and sing “Hatchy Birthday”. In this stage the Hatchimal is growning up, and really loves to play. There are some really cool games you can unlock and then play with your Hatchimal during the Kid stage. Our favorite game to play was the “Tag” game. In this game, your Hatchimal moves, and when its eyes flash red, you tap its head to “Tag” it. When you’ve tagged your Hatchimal 15 times, you win! By far this stage is the most intertesting because the Hatchimal can do so much more. The thing we love about the Hatchimal is that its easy to move back to the baby or toddler stages, at any time.
Overall the Hatchimal is a great pick for this Easter season. I really liked the cool options in each of the stages, which will entertain children for hours on end. “Nurturing” the egg to hatching, and teaching the Hatchimal makes it much more interactive than similar toys like the Furby. I was blown away by the responsiveness of the Hatchimals, making it a great choice for children as young as 4, up to the 11+ range.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter loves Hatchimals and was excited about the Hatchimals CollEGGtibles Secret Scene Playset. When you peek through the top like a kaleidoscope there is see the secret scene, I thought that this was a cool aspect to the toy. The whole egg is decorated beautifully.
She enjoyed letting the Hatchimal play on the swing, slide on the slide, ride the merry-go-round and simply hang out in the nests, but she stated that she wish that the swing came out further because it hits the wall. The slide is also made in a way in which the Hatchimal gets stuck when going down the slide. She would like to see the egg made in a bigger size. The merry-go-round does not do a complete 360 degrees, it stops at about 180 degrees. Overall she really enjoys playing with the toy and was happy to show it with the neighborhood kids. I really like that it can closed back up when not in use and the Hatchimals can go inside.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 6 year old daughter was very excited to get the Hatchimal playset in the mail. She has several small hatchimals and was excited to have a playset for them. It’s very cute and she loves how it opens and closes back up. She played with the playset for a few days after we received it but hasn’t played with it since. A good toy to take on the go!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter loves hatchimals and has collected about 50 or more. She has definitely caught the collectors bug, so she was happy to break into this. But honestly it didn't keep her attention for more than a few minutes, as many of these collectibles do. So it is a nice addition for a child that is adding to a collection. But as a penny-pincher , I don't feel like its money well spent.
