Review of new 36-in wide side by side fridge

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The refrigerator was delivered with no issues. It's pretty quiet with exception to the icemaker which is to be expected. I do feel that it has ample space on both sides that works for our family of 3. The only drawback or negative thing I would add is when using the ice machine or water it tends to splash down the front of the fridge and ice tends to fall over the sides which causes constant pickup or if you are OCD like me constantly wiping down the front of fridge.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Lighting is nice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wish they'd have put 1 more shelf in the freezer door and you can't move the shelves in the refrigerator. My old Kenmore had 2 shelves that rolled out on the refrigerator side. So far it's working great. Ice maker is slow but it works well.

Loud!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We selected this refrigerator for our new construction home. It is extremely loud. The motor seems to run non-stop but it is louder at certain points of time throughout the day. When the water cycles, or when the fan turns on, or when it makes ice, I can hear it all throughout our 3,000 sq. ft. home. It's awful.

Terrible noisy refrigerator

My apartment complex supplied us with these. It’s the loudest refrigerator I’ve ever had. I’ve never paid attention to refrigerator noise until this one. The evaporator fan is so loud and seems to rubs constantly. I can hear it all over my place. Please stay away!

Great freezing and cooling

Broke after 10 months. Extremely poor warranty!

Our fridge broke after 10 months - just stopped cooling and started making a popping noise. Whirlpool put us in touch with the only repair shop in town (we live in the Raleigh, NC area - not a small town!) and we waited for a week and a half for a repair man to come out. The compressor was dead and he said it might take weeks to order a compressor and come back out to replace it, but who can live without a fridge in the house for weeks? We have medication that must stay cool and we were tired of buying ice from the store every day. We ended up buying another fridge. We emailed Whirlpool to see if they can make good on this and were told we need to go through the steps suggested by the repair shop. Maybe one can live without a washer, dryer, microwave for weeks but a fridge should have a different priority. More than half of our food spoiled. We put all the freezer food in a friend’s freezer - another inconvenience. We will never buy another Whirlpool fridge nor ever pay for an extended warranty for fridge again. This was the manufacturer’s warranty but since the warranty does not guarantee speed of service, it’s just not worth it. Not for a fridge.
